We might has well have sold Branthwaite given our esteemed manager isn’t playing him anyway. That would have given us a decent amount to money for Thelwell to sign even more players that Dyche would refuse to pick.
There should be absolutely no relevence to Chris Rigg and Everton as he will cost £40m + for whoever decides to purchase him.We should have signed Gray and Wharton the past 2 Januarys.
Not really sure what youre trying to achieve in comparing 2 vastly different players?
One went overseas and one moved to a 'big 6 club' ?
Whats the relevance with Chris Rigg and Everton?
Only a mentalist would pay money for Keane in JanuaryAre we also being tee'd up for the O'Brien sale, perhaps also trying to add some value for a Keane sale in January?
Or are we being tee'd up for a DCL, Beto, Gana, Doucoure, Mykolenko, Patterson sale?
Under this manager...any sale could happen.
Only a mentalist would pay money for Keane in January
who pays money for someone with 6 months of there contract left
Such as?I cant tell if you're serious or not.
There are so many examples of this.
If his name was Christo Riggato and he played for Lecce or Bari or someone of that ilk (I'm not checking who's top of Serie B) he'd be worth £15m tops. There should be absolutely no relevence to Chris Rigg and Everton as he will cost £40m + for whoever decides to purchase him.
If you want my opinion though, he should stay at Sunderland and try get them promoted, get a good 100-150 games for them under his belt, then his next move would be the big move and he would be ready for it.
But he isn't so he will cost a lot more, he has also been linked to the likes of Dortmund, Utd, and Madrid so I find it hard to believe we will be competing with them for his signature. He is going to be £20-30m imoIf his name was Christo Riggato and he played for Lecce or Bari or someone of that ilk (I'm not checking who's top of Serie B) he'd be worth £15m tops.
My point was that he's too expensive, and we shouldn't be shopping in England in order to extract the most value out of our transfer kitty. But he isn't so he will cost a lot more, he has also been linked to the likes of Dortmund, Utd, and Madrid so I find it hard to believe we will be competing with them for his signature. Nah - Whinging little titEh lads we should’ve picked up Vinicius Jr on a free you know.
100% agree mate, I have been saying the last few windows there is just no value for a club like us in UK based transfers until we are better off from a financial perspective. My point was that he's too expensive, and we shouldn't be shopping in England in order to extract the most value out of our transfer kitty.
but yes, agreed.

We can't afford either player though Zat, you need to be a bit more realistic about potential players mate. Rigg is highly sought after by serious big boys who IF they move we simply can't compete with them, let alone the money aspect side of things. Dibling is a Saints lad through and through and I know for a fact he is happy to plod along with them for the time being. You are looking at another Le Tissier situation there, boy is a real homebird as was shown when he previously went to Chelsea and got homesick. Even if he did the fee on a player like that would be massive, you are asking the club to spend (possibly) the best part of £50m+ on two teenagers, for a club like us that is NOT good recruitment imo.Gravesen, Barkley stick out in my mind for Everton. Every January there are also plenty more, with other clubs picking up players on cheap deals rather than risking greater competition in the summer.
I think we really need to be going after these types of players like Rigg and Dibling.
While not 'homegrown' we need to have an English backbone to have some identity as all the great teams have had.
Plus they dont need to adapt to a new environment and it should be a natural step up for them.
