Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I love Richarlison but he isn't the player we need at the moment.

He is a big fee, big wages and big injury record.

Spurs was the wrong move, he should have left to go abroad but his transfer fee literally saved this club.

Weirdly enough his wages at Spurs aren't much more than we had him on, think he's sub 100k

Agree with this. His injury record is really poor. We can’t afford to blow our budget on players who won’t be available for half the season. I hope sentiment isn’t driving decision making in transfers any more.

He’s exactly the player we need.

Someone that would fight for us in games and that can score. He changed it for spurs today.

He would be perfect in that no9 position for us

Yeah. If he was regularly fit and wasn't playing i would be all for it but he's injured too much and he's not playing much when he's available. Bad combo.

Well this is it mate...we've all been bemoaning the fact we need a right winger,Moyes was full of praise for Lindstrom in his presser.

Moyes might fancy Lindstrom and decide against bringing someone in.

Players play different in different system, we've just seen a whole new Right side there today, like I said in a previous post sometimes the players are right under your nose.
I hope Moyes still decides to bring a winger in. Reason: we have Harrison or Young as options from the bench lol.

Dream scenario if we could attract and afford them would be making Lindstrom a permanent, getting Richy back either on loan with option or a knock down fee and trying to persuade Mcatee that Alan Balls ghost wants him to sign for us.

Add fellows to the mix and we'd actually have a cracking forward line with serious options for once, counting Ndiaye being there as well.

How much would it all cost though, fellows say 12-15, Lindstrom I think it's 18-20 to make permanent, Mcatee say 25, Richy say around 30-35.

Best part of 100m which is roughly what they sank into Roma first season. Make Richy a loan with option you free up 35m to use elsewhere.

Leave us needing a couple of centre mids and maybe a pair of fullbacks

Easy this champ manager lark...
Maybe an idea to go back to Napoli and try and renegotiate a lower permanent fee. Now would be the best time to try because Napoli will have looked at his appearance stats this season and concede it hasn’t really worked up to now and reduce their demands. If Moyes gets a tune out of him for the rest of the season (and it looks entirely possible based on today), then we’ll have no chance of renegotiating the already agreed fee. Offer them 10-12 million see if they bite, then if successful that frees up another loan spot.

After playing well for 60 mins?

Said almost exactly that a few days back mate.

Think the agreed fee is 20m - if we had the room we can even blag them we need the extra loan spot so wanna turn it into a permanent now for a lower fee. Or just agree to turn it from an option into an obligation for a reduced amount.

Moyes is canny and sure the thoughts gone through his mind already

Thats incredibly short sighted and knew that would be one of the first replies so congratulations. He’s blatantly a talented a player, he’s proven it in Germany. It hasn’t only been today that he’s shown he’s a talented player either. Don’t be fooled by the previous manager’s reluctance to play him as a reason to think he’s crap. He isn’t, and far from it. And 10 million is literally buttons in today’s money. Won’t even get you a half decent championship player.

It’s unlikely they’ll accept that low a fee, but it’s worth a try to see just how low they’re prepared to go.

I'd counter that suggesting signing a player who has been bang below average for the most part, other than 60 mins today is what is short sighted. Especially, given our recent history in transfer dealings and the need to spend money sensibly.

There are many players 'proven' in Germany, who fail to make an impact in the Premier League, hardly a success in Italy either.

He had a great game today, no doubt, but let's not be jumping in with both feet based on one performance.

If he keeps it up, sure.
