Yeah but the creative players are far better than the defenders. I’d be much more concerned if they were adding an experienced centre half or a midfield lynchpin rather than adding to Hutchinson, Clarke, Philogene and Szmodics on the “talented but lightweight” side of things.

Jack Clarke has been really poor for them, they expected him to bring his shooting boots and creativity with him from Sunderland and he’s looked like the step up is miles beyond him. Encisco hasn’t lit the league up but he’s busy and good with the ball, he will almost certainly be a better option for them than Clarke has been so far. Hutchison, who they got from Chelsea has looked very very good occasionally. They won’t be finished with signings yet either.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they finished above Wolves

Again, not saying he is brilliant, far from it, but Beto has 5 goals from 538 minutes of football in a team that doesn't play to his strengths (or create much). I know Embolo's goals this year are at a higher level than most of the opposition than Beto has been up against, but we need significantly better than we have, or potential. Not more, meh players imo.
As for Calvert-Lewin, yes he has been terrible. He has some leeway for some of the above (must be difficult being a striker for Dyche), but 3 goals in 1560 plus minutes is unforgivable.
He has to get contractors in for that.
