Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Jack Clarke has been really poor for them, they expected him to bring his shooting boots and creativity with him from Sunderland and he’s looked like the step up is miles beyond him. Encisco hasn’t lit the league up but he’s busy and good with the ball, he will almost certainly be a better option for them than Clarke has been so far. Hutchison, who they got from Chelsea has looked very very good occasionally. They won’t be finished with signings yet either.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they finished above Wolves

He has a goal in him this lad and a bit of X about him mate.

Ipswich are really going for it!

I know they brought Godfrey in but if I was them I’d be looking to strengthen more at the back.

Be interesting to see what happens at Wolves, all dies my look rosey there and a few look like they want out.

Different times. Recruitment is different and you have to pay top dollar for Championship talent nowadays. Even Moyes has said as much.

Disagree tbh, just these days the 4m quid championship player bargain is 15m, same way the 20m top player from abroad now costs 45-65m.

Football inflation across the board. You but a top player from a Czech team but you ain't getting them for 2-3m either you're paying 7-15m minimum.

Not even to do with more scoring networks reducing bargains, it's just far far more money now in the marketplace - just look at what a team like Brighton can spend these days compared to 12 years ago a similar team.

Wolves are in big trouble, the players are clearly undisciplined and they are desperate for quality at the back. They remind me of the Leicester team that went down, lots of individual talent with no team ethic. We saw under the last manager that all is not well and they’ve just appointed a social hand grenade who looks like he’s gone public about their best player already. Ipswich have a very good chance to get above Wolves imo.

Maybe wolves are trying to push Cunha out the door to fund some Portuguese defenders currently sat in Jorge Mendes conservatory?

….yep, not sure if he’s another who lost the hunger after City but 91 goals in 220 games for them is a top, top player. I’ve always been a big fan (even for RS), it’s why I thought Arsenal would be great for him after the toil at Chelsea.
He was peak that last year at Reds and one year at city unplayable. I would definitely take him until end of season he would keep us up.

@Zatara going to have a meltdown Kayode off to Brentford

Bloody hell Moyes wanted him when he was 17.

Oh my God, the lad is toilet 🙈

Loads of potential when about 18 and done nothing. Good to see quality names are appearing for the inevitable late scramble!

He was really highly rated and we were heavily linked. Dont remember if he was at Schalke by then?

Big bloke and seemed a bit like a battering ram and his goals arent a bad record...just not wow.

27 now so a no for Thelwell

I have heard that Arsenal are terminating Sterling's loan and that we're interested in loaning for the rest of the season...

Seriously?

Well 5 goals and 5 assists this season..figures DCL and Beto can dream off lol
