Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Fair play to Forest, they haven’t achieved anything but a bit of form so far, but that’s not stopping them from trying to sign Cunha with 60 million pound bids within 12 months of a PSR breach. You have to admire their ambition.
Their owner has more money than the Premier League and can afford more lawyers and following the Chelsea debacle and likely City one as well it wouldn't surprise me if psr is dead in the water.

If all your going to end up with for breaching PSR is a fine…everyones going to spend

Be like like an arms race

Prob wont get a deal this season because of the postion sunderland in could be an option if they dont come up. So they can get a good profit and spend
Could we buy him this window and loan him back to Sunderland for rest of the season? Gueye (needs an extension) Mangala & Docoure contracts are expiring and we only have Tim, Garner and Armstrong for next season.

I'd very happily welcome Mangala back on loan next season or permanently for £15-20m. You rarely get better players for that kind of money any more. Him, Gueye for a final season, Tim, Garner, Neil or Bellingham if we could get either, and Armstrong would be a great mix of experience and youth. Probably a £25-30m outlay tops for Mangala plus one of the other mentioned players from Sunderland.

The more I think about the new cowboys on the block and their reticence in the transfer window, the more doubts about them I have…
Oh FFS

Given we only have limited head room for who we buy this month from a PSR point of view, this feels really unlikely.

I like the look of him, but not sure what spending a chunk of what relatively little we are allowed to spend this month would be wise given we need players who can come in and make a difference now and a lad from the Championship (even if Moyes does remember him from his time at Sunderland) doesn't feel like someone who'd move the dial instantly. Also, he looks like a number 6/8 and that's not really a priority this month.

One for the summer perhaps
