Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

This again. Why are we one of the only clubs with this bizarre attitude. If they've played in England before they are much, much more expensive, both in fees and wages.

Sounded to me like he was saying the lads they were looking at from abroad were basically not playing much at their sides, so rusty and new to the leagues not the best combination really. Tend to agree with him if that's the template we are looking towards.

Different if it's a lad playing and in form ofc

Unless we cancel one or both domestic loans though we are screwed - if it's even a possibility, so happy we decided to take a long term injured player and one who'd already shown he was dog turd the previous season at us

I'd take Ferguson with an option every day of the week over Chukwuemenka btw.

Dreamer in me still has hopes on Mcatee, rumour today Mainz are talking about a loan deal. Moyes presser he cited the championship, cited wanted someone seasoned on the league, cited they need to have the Everton DNA, Mcatee kinda ticks the first two just about and sure as anything has the third - literally. McNeil going down long term for me makes it an absolute no brainer to at least try for him.

Does him still being 20 change the loan rules for him?

Well I’m guessing he’s concerned we spend our January budget on an attacker to come in and hit the ground running and then they can’t adapt and it’s a complete waste?

Saw that mentioned mate earlier but as I posted up I'm pretty certain that only applies to the club loaning him out on the restrictions on numbers not anyone loaning him in.

We do have options mind, first is just give Chelsea what they want to take Broja back, the other being to pay leads a few to take Harrison back early and agree to cover his wages as per the initial loan. (Second I don't see happening though now with McNeil needing surgery sadly)

I doubt that will be his attitude come the summer, and it’s defo not a club policy - all of the targets that were obvious “Thelwell targets” were abroad

Tbh in our situation I tend to agree with him, can take a slight risk on a younger player say whose from this league, but doing so on a young lad whose gonna have to adapt mid season on the fly seems just like taking way too big a risk currently.

Moyes press conference on transfers:

"I cant promise [signings] but I'm quite confident we'll try and get something done before then."

That's the sound of supporters being 'managed'.

Expect f.a.
