City have already had a massive spotlight shone on them; the PL will have to poo or get off the pot when the next lot of potential charges rolls around. If that’s what it takes to kill PSR then fine by me.
Utd are apparently in dire straits re PSR already so their spending will dry up almost completely.
Re Villa - It’s the recouped amount that’s interesting. Once the clubs that are signing their players face restrictions, so will Villa.
It’s a house of cards in more ways than one. Either PL stick to their guns and enforce to the letter, and clubs all but stop attracting the biggest talent to the league, or they realise their error and sack it off. Either way it’s coming.
I’ve always found it very odd that the PL has this power over a group of independent businesses. Wildly inappropriate and stifling the product they wilfully put in place in the early 90s.
It was brought in at the behest of the likes of Liverpool and Man United to stop the next Man City/ Chelsea coming through, this has nothing to do with sustainability at all.
