Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

So you admit he made MANY transfers?

That's not someone who's a ditherer then.

And his transfer record for us was exceptional don't even attempt to dress it up as anything else.

Especially with the non existent financial backing he had off Kenwright, it's funny how two certain posters on here seem to be in total agreement on everything.. :)

Let's face it, TFG have reportedly got 5-10m PSR room equating to around 40m spending available.

Sounds very restrictive until you factor in tomorrow the could transfer Doucoure or Dixon to Roma for 10-12m and send a Roma youngster here for 8-10m (say Bove) , giving us around 10m extra room or adding 50m spending ability to us. They could also agree to use Roma to take Harrison on loan with Leeds agreement for the remainder of the season.

It's the advantage of the multi club model - as long as in reality Roma or us don't financially lose out due to the desks, then it's just gaming the PSR system.

First option would be absolutely simple to do.
The glaring issue with this is that the Roma manager probably has at least a few brain cells at his disposal

…is Bove ok, unless I’m getting mixed up the last I report I had was him collapsing on the pitch?

But we didn't lose Cahill though...he signed for Everton and went on to be one of Moyes's best transfers.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion but surely you must realise you may come up against some resistance when your opinions aren't based on fact.

See if you can come up with another failed transfer where his dithering cost us and i'll happily spend the rest of the night under the stairs.
Yes we did sign Cahill but you are missing the point, we would not have signed him if the other club would have agreed to pay the agents fee due to Moyes unable to make up his mind. I believe there were other instances but its so long ago I cannot remember other details, this deal sticks in my mind and as you say Cahill was a great player.

Ok listen we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one mate 👍

You're missing the point, the hold up was over the fee nothing else, let me think, we weren't called cashstrapped Everton for nothing.

Do you have a shred of evidence to back any of this up?

Cahill was in London for 7 years, could it not be that he didnt fancy a move up North and picked Palace?

Unless you have anything to disprove the above statement, it becomes fact.

Your move my G.

That was Andy Johnson and he wasn't dithering it was Kenwright who had failed to offer Palace what Wigan and Bolton had offered . As for Cahill from what I can remember Palace had agreed a fee with Millwall before we had but pulled out of the deal because his agent wanted 125,000
“I was being told that we didn’t need a right-back but I kept saying that he wasn't a right-back, but a centre-half. I could see where the kid was going and that he was going to grow into a top centre-half.

“It got to 4pm and his agent was in touch to say that John was on his way to have a medical at Wigan.

“‘Do you want him?’ he said. It was only then that David went: ‘Right, okay, we will go for it’. The others were shaking their heads because they didn’t want him.”

Stones turned off for Finch Farm instead of Wigan and with minutes to spare, completed a deal worth £3m.
