Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

daily record reporting that

A former Everton insider reckons the club could make a move for Rangers striker Hamza Igamanebefore the end of the January window.

The Moroccan has emerged as the first-choice frontman at Ibrox this season after netting 13 goals for Philippe Clement's side following his summer arrival from AS FAR. Reports south of the border have suggested Everton, West Ham, Newcastle United, Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham have shown an interest in the prospect who arrived for £1.7million last summer.

That is based on some nonsense from ‘Goodison news’
(which itself was based on other nonsense from Graeme Bailey)

His own manager has said just recently he is not mentally fit too play football atm. The issues with him (and have been for a while) are more related to his lifestyle off the pitch. He is a young lad and hopefully he can get his head straight again. Here is not the right place for him imo.
I haven't seen those and am very surprised I haven't heard them before now. If there are lifestyle issues I'm surprised the Irish rags havent been all over it as he is very much the hopes and dreams of Irish football. Similarly I'm surprised it hasnt been raised on Off the Ball (Irish sports radio show). If his own manager said he is mentally unfit then that could be for many reasons, a major one being a lack of confidence because said manager doesnt have faith in him.... Not saying the lifestyle rumour that you refer to isnt true just that I have not heard it before now... and of course I hope its not true (for his sake)

I thought it was more due to his reoccurring injuries and not fitting the new manager's style of play as I was unaware of any issues related to his demeanor

I live down here on the South Coast. Its well known round here that there have been issues and there has been some hint of it in certain media. As for the manager thing, well I will counter that by saying the previous manager (De Zerbi) had issues with him also and they were publicised, so that's 2 different managers that seemingly have/have had an issue with the player. I get why all the Irish fans want to defend him and refuse to believe it but as I have said before Brighton is an enticing place for the younger ones and it has a seedy underbelly to it, plenty have fallen foul of the 24hr lifestyle and crazy nightlife which exists there, if we were just talking about some random student nobody would bat an eyelid but because he is a footballer people don't want to believe its true.
