Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Rubbish transfer stories this morning, basically the same as yesterday;

Southampton asking for £9m for Walker Peters, with less than 6 months on his deal
Ajax want £30m for Brobbey
Rangers want over £25m for Igamane
Everton may terminate Harrison's loan to free up a domestic loan place for one of the Chelsea Three
Newcastle want £10m for Sean Longstaff, we would prefer an loan with obligation to buy (we dont currently have a domestic loan slot available)

We still seem to be in the "plotting" and "mulling" phase of the transfer window, rather than the "swooping" and "raiding"

Let's be honest. It's Dithering Dave striking again. But he became the Moyesiah with a mixture of Segundo Castillo, Stracqualursi, Enner Valencia and Hitzlsperger sprinkled amongst his Fellaini's, Baines, Pienaar's, Cahill's and Lescott's, so he does generally eventually pull his finger out and make signings (traditionally with a late deal sheet via fax machine before the window is completely closed). When the dust settles, we might end up with a kitchen knife in a nuclear war fight, but it'll be better than self-immolating with that sweaty angry red potato with candida who was at the helm.
Harsh to beat him with the six-month squad filler loans, especially one that Ronald Koeman signed.

my point being, he gets bodies in, when needs must, even when limited resources are available - eventually. Valencia, no, but swap him for Senderos or Lucas Neil and the like and you get the general picture.

From the Echo this morning to save all the reading

"On Wednesday, a report in Tuttosport claimed Everton were on the verge of finalising a deal to sign Igamane but the ECHO understands that such claims are wide of the mark and the Blues are looking elsewhere as they have no interest in the 22-year-old."
The Echo know nothing. All they do is rehash rumours from junk sources. It's pretty desperate stuff particularly when it's about who we won't sign. They need to attract clickbait with this sort of rubbish. I prefer a simple "I don't know" from Alan Myers, at least it's honest.

Sure someone has posted this but looked at who David Moyes has signed in January before.

Think we are all praying for Arteta, Jelavić, Stubbs, Bowen or Souček type signings (Lingered was great for them to be fair in that half season).

He certainly doesn't like the January window much!

I reckon we're waiting until after the Leicester game to act. If we win that then the gap between us and the bottom is pretty healthy, so might decide we only need one in on a loan.

If we lose maybe it's a more drastic multi player deadline dash.

If the last few January windows thought us anything it's expect to be disappointed.
Remember a couple of years back when normal decent mentally stable posters lost their tiny minds because Southampton beat us to the signing of a dude called tall Paul. Who i don't think scored a goal since.
Cracking night that was.

So either the leaks have been plugged or we're doing nothing.
It's the latter I imagine.

Whether you have an opinion or not on The Bobbler, his feedback yesterday was spot on. If there's no word circling about within a relatively small, closed, incestuous environment; it's because there's nothing happening.

I tend to find out what happens from an ex-pro I know, they all chat with each other and then stuff gets out of the circle.
