Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Yeah I would be onboard with a strategy of spending what we have on one single addition who can add quality, rather than squad meat who themselves will need upgrading. 100%. I just have my doubts over that player being Ferguson.
Honestly mate I'd have thrown 100m at this window to change the perception prior to the summer. In June do shenanigans to comply with PSR lie everyone else does.

If TFG think one summer and 100m can sort this squad out then they are blind.

100m spent in a January window is likely to only get you 50m worth of players. Too many teams trying to fill in gaps in their team to move them up in the run in, and every team will be asking over the odds when they know your desperate to get that player in January.

Been a bit underwhelming so far hasnt it. Blimey, moyes said we had to get 3 in when he joined. Mangala and DCL now out for the foreseeable and we dont have anyone in yet.
We are a beto and ndiaye injury from complete and utter diasaster.

No offence mate but I think that's just one of those things said that's got zero foundation to it, you may find less bargains but prices are not that inflated if the players you go for are ones on the fringe or out of favour or actively pushing for moves.

Take Ferguson - he'd go now or in summer for around the same amount, could even go for more as more teams will have funds available.

Or take my favourite obsession Mcatee, now the number of clubs after him will be limited due to finances, in the summer city could basically auction him off, and champ player on a promotion push now will cost less than if they get promoted and you have the premier league player 'tax' added.

Yeah overall 100 now might see you paying maybe 10% higher but not more than that.

Evan Ferguson would me an interesting one. It’s huge risk given the injuries and the off the field rumours but the upside would be huge if Moyes could get him fit and knuckling down.

Was checking out the Brighton threads about him, the rumour on there was he actually had glandular fever the other year, so who knows if the coke stuff is pure bs
