What’s everyone’s favourite transfer window tropes then?

And when we get linked with a player it’s always funny when someone suggests:

“we’ve got more chance of signing *some other known person with the same surname*”

This one is particularly funny when the person who’s name they use has never even been involved in football at all.

I saw a report that Walker-Peters had decided he was going to run out his contract. Do you think theres a decent chance then we got him to pre-agree a deal in the summer?

You can't do pre contracts for players at English clubs. But I guess agents and clubs can do deals with no contract?

I suspect that's probably why he's long since been on the radar of the likes of United, Arsenal, Chelsea, the RS etc. He wont be choosing us over the top teams any time soon.

We need to rid ourselves of this smalltime mentality. By we, I mean us fans.

Why should we not aspire to sign a guy from Ligue One? If he's wanted by all these top clubs, anyone of them could have agreed terms with him over the past 30 days and they haven't.

I imagine Newcastle fans were saying similar about Bruno Guimaraes when they were floundering under Steve Bruce before that January window.

New owners, new finances, new start. Be positive.
