Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Imagine absolutely destroying your salary structure for £350,000 a week Marcus Rashford. Onana, Watkins, Martinez, Torres and Rogers will be knocking on the chairman's door very soon and the lovely harmonoous atmosphere they've created over the past 2 seasons will be a thing of the past when Rashford is stinking the place out yet arriving to training in his custom Bentley.
It’s a gamble but it’s one worth taking as Emery will bring Rashy’s best form back. It’s clear he hasn’t been happy at United for a while so a fresh change of scenery will help him imo

As much as we need bodies in, it should not be bodies for bodies sake, the mistakes of the past still hamstring us par wise (Walcott and Tosun cost a fortune delivered less than nothing and left for free)
Moyes has shown in just 4 games that a change in attitude from play not to lose (dycheball) to try and score first and then defend can deliver 9 out of 12 available points. We are 9 points above Leicester now and they looked very poor today
The players that Dyche refused to use O’Brien, Beto, and Lindstrom suddenly look like premiership players and Ndiaye looks a better player than he did before
If loans are all we can achieve to flesh out the squad for the next 6 months just to cover key positions that should be the priority. In seasons past Moyes didn’t rotate much and managed to keep most of his key players fit (not withstanding freak ACL injuries…. Arteta, Jagielka)
If there is no value let’s not hamper ourselves with 3-5 year contracts for players who are bog standard and hope TFG can change the narrative and as they stated at takeover ‘ Strengthening the men’s first-team squad through thoughtful and strategic investment.’

No doubt we have made really bad mistakes in the past.

But that's the most overused saying in football , Bringing bodies in for bodies sake.

Any transfers brought in ( in any window ) should be needed and good value for the club. We shouldn't be looking at " bodies " but players that make an instant impact and hopefully a long term future here.

Makes absolutely no sense for Palace to do that.... Mitchell already there, wages nuts, always injured.
I thought exactly the same thing. Seems a strange signing. Maybe @Alan Whittle can enlighten us. Either way, I'm pleased he's not coming here, crocks on massive wages living off past glories is a big part of how we ended up with multiple points deductions.

I’ve gone from being adamant we needed three signings the other day to actually being pretty happy with Alcaraz as our only incoming. Moyes has basically said we can’t sign the players he wants right now so no point splashing out on crap he doesn’t want I suppose.
