Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Remember when everyone...and I mean just about EVERYONE, scoffed at Chris Wood coming in? Good fn GOD he'd be the best striker we'd have had since Lukaku.
Nobody saw this season coming from him and I'm absolutely certain he won't repeat this level of performance next season. Had we have signed him nobody would have felt confident that he'd be enough up front, and Forest have quite a few far more technicality gifted players for us on account of spending several hundred million more than us in the past two years.

One of the reasons I’d be against Weir is precisely because he’s friendly with Moyes. I don’t want the DOF and manager to be cosy, the DOF should be constantly demanding the manager does better, and vice versa. The manager gets to appoint his staff but he shouldn’t be appointing his DOF.

Dreadful recruitment by Weir.

Similar to Moyes since he left Everton.

Tbf to the lad he does very occasionally hit the kind of 30-yard pass that makes me think there may actually be a player in there somewhere.

Will we get to see him on the left where he was actually semi-decent for Leeds now?
He was at Leeds for 3 seasons on loan from Man City. Even Bielsa couldn't improve him. I don't know why we bought him.He tends to run into cul de sacs. Hasn't got the electric pace to be an out and out winger. Works hard and does his best. Summerville Dan James, Solomon Rutter far better players .

Well, will be interesting to see what Moyes does with him - make use of or fire from cannon?

Evidence against all the people that thought relegation would be a better reset for us. Relegation would have ruined us
Championship is a 46 game battle every week. No guarantees even if you've got a great squad . The only up side is you're going to some different grounds , win more matches and with a bit of luck rebuild a decent team . Most grounds are full. The difference in finances is massive.
