based on what? his massive haul of 6 goals, I just don't see it, I think he is another PL youngster who has been hyped up too much. He needs to start by getting himself a move and into a team and playing some football first imo, only then can we judge him properly tbh.

Garner seems like a decent PL midfielder, 6/10 most weeks, Longstaff looks the same to me.

Made the mistake of watching a facebook clip of Rom when he was on fire for us - forgot just how good he was at that point (the best he ever was imo) - Beto on Saturday doesn't inspire quite the same buzz

Both CMs who dont stand out in football matches with limited ability.

Jesus has done a Dom, so they might risk it, the potential is there for all to see, the issues less so.

At the same age, Alan Shearer had scored 10 goals in 77 appearances for Southampton over four seasons.

Ferguson has 13 in 59 for Brighton over his first three and a bit...

I'm not saying Ferguson will have anything like the career of Shearer, but his potential is obvious and his early emergence compares favourably with even that all-time great.

You seem to be forgetting that Thelwell has had his hands tied behind his back his whole tenure.
He's shopping for bargains and filling holes with whatever he can find and firefighting

Could say the same about dyche, Lampard ect.

At the end of the day this is a results based business and if you dont do it regardless of reasons you get sacked and thelwell hasnt done it

There's a massive tradition of Everton players coming from the Emerald Isle. Ferguson will probably be told that and that he'd fit right in here.

More importantly he's practically unplayable when on form.
