Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Yes, but the fact Gyokeres never got a sniff shows you that Brighton's judgement is not infallible. This is why buying him might be possible and why doing so would not necesarilly be them pulling our pants down.

I've seen enough of Ferguson. The last time I saw somebody with his strength and touch up front was Alan Shearer. Ferguson was stronger than even him at 18. If he has any sort of career, he will be Ireland's best forward since Frank Stapleton.
Was Robbie Keane not a forward ?

I would like to hope that any decision made on Ferguson is based on greater insight than what we as fans glean from the little we've seen from him - like data and trustworthy references.

Yeah I cannot imagine any club is dropping £40m on a striker that doesn't get any minutes at all for Brighton. Maximum loan with option to buy at a price that reflects the fact he is not considered a key player for them.

Not by much, though. Gyokeres was 22, Cucurella 23. Ferguson is a faster developer than both of those. He was like a bull at 18. They might feel his time has come. That's why the risk will be high with this one for whoever buys him.
Maybe they do and we will see what happens with him and if he goes on and does well then everyone can say they made another mistake, I have my doubts on this though.

He fell out with the previous manager also though, this has happened twice which some don't seem to realise. Look I'm not against this as the kid looked decent a few season ago but its a massive risk imo.
Depends how desperate we are.

Looks like most are swerving, maybe he wants to be in a team where he starts as first choice and plays regularly.

Surprised the Gooners aren't all over him,
unless they're keeping their powder dry for Isaak.
