Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Think Moyes has kept his powder dry today, hardly going to give anything away when TFG are negotiating with clubs over potential targets. I suspect we’ve got a few decent incoming, however last minute announcements. The possibility of a DCL cash in would be very interesting on that front.

So why are you equating having experience over here to someone currently playing over here?
Whether they're playing in the PL or somewhere else they're unlikely to be a regular starter for their club. Or, if they are, they'll be someone like Maupay who was belted out of the PL for being meh. I don't accept the argument that PL experience is a greater predictor of success in the PL than anything else. Certainly not in the history of Everton Football Club. It's how we've ended up with dross like Harrison on massive wages.

I wonder if there will be any outs...

I fear that Arsenal are desperate for a striker, and if they lobbed £25m our way for DCL I doubt we could say no. I'm sure I'm just being paranoid though
Hope there will be few outs, and some new good ones in!! No ones throwing 25 mill at a striker that has barely scored in 2 years!! Though we perhaps know why/. I do think Moyes will get him scoring, i think he is capable of scoring in the prem, we just need setting up better going forward than we were with Dyche.

He will leave on a free in the summer i think...

In the two games under Moyes DCL has looked more threatening, and of course scored a good goal against Spurs. I think he will do well, not fantastic, for the remainder of the season

Arsenal give me a break he would be on the bench at best there. They will be looking higher than Dom with all due respect to him and I think he can get five or six goals for us before the summer but Arsenal come on they have higher options. For free in the summer as a squad option maybe, but they aren't paying much for Dom or making him their number one striker...

Bingo !

"I'm quite confident we'll try and get something done"

If you didn't already know that was a transfer comment by Moyes you'd have guessed it was him.

The feller's hurtling toward a "No real value in this January window, we go with what we have" statement.

Why do we think Dom is good enough for Arsenal besides the fact that their current options are also poor? He doesn’t improve them at all.

Take that down.

I look forward to him keeping us up with no new signings given you’ve said only Dyche could do it.
