Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

City have just bought 3 CB I don't see them wanting Branthwaite, still think he is here next season tbh. Ipswich will no doubt sell if they go down, I have a feeling they might just pull clear though.

Branthwaite for me is unsellable this summer.

I also don't think he'd push for a move save for a ridiculous club coming in for him and I'm talking City or Madrid there.

Weird side effects of the post Dyche now Moyes era will be a lot of the lads who probably had had enough now have got a massive positive jolt and are really seeming to love it here, bodes well short term for keeping the core group together and also word of mouth between players is absolutely huge, and they'll be chatting to mates etc about the dressing room vibe and positivity around the club. Really we have somehow just almost by accident gotten really lucky at the exact moment we needed to.

We beat out arsenal for Miralles way back when, depends on the lad though, both Chelsea and United he will see having spent 70m plus on a striker only to discard them after a season, both clubs often changing managers too.

Delap seems from his interviews and actions to be a rare mature/grounded lad - a few of the city graduates do actually (it's a big reason I like Mcatee), he could view us as career wise at least for the next 2-4 seasons as the best long term move out of the three.

I think if we want him we can get him actually and sane goes for Mcatee.
We have more draw now with Moyes in charge. The positivity and energy about the club compared to the previous regime must be infectious. Add to that the new stadium, and the small squad meaning higher chances of regular playing time and we will certainly be in the conversation. No doubt the Chelsea's and United's would offer a higher wage, but like you say, the number of young players they sign that don't play has to be a turn off.

We should refrain from trying for obvious in-demand players like Delap or McAtee, we should go for underrated players who can have their breakout season with us. I would rather we focused on players like Bobb or Giui.

Yeah especially so for lads who leave Man City as they want to be playing regularly.

They've already had the big club experience so may be wary if a repeat - especially at clubs who routinely pay 30-60m then have a player not even featuring much at times

Bobb is higher rated at City than Mcatee mate though, and if their was a sniff city would let him go every top team would come knocking.

Looks a really good player though I'll give you that.

Not sure he's underrated though before the injury late in pre season he was ahead of Mcatee in the pre season pecking order.

In demand isn't something we should avoid though, our past issues came from overpaying on players when we literally where the only club remotely interested in them 😂

The key with Moyes recruitment in the past with us was t going fur players nobody wanted it was going for them a little bit before equal clubs or bigger would offer them the same importance as we did.

Cahill, Miralles, Arteta, Baines, Pienaar, Jagielka and Lescott all had other offers but chose us.

Dont think anyone is unsellable, just way football is but stick to a price so we can get top money for him. Would be a blow to loose him but is like brighton have players acouted ready to be the next one

I don't mean to say we should go for players nobody wants. I think going for them before they have their breakthrough season is a better bet than clubs knowing we are desperate for a rebuild and paying over the odds for them. In that sense, going for Bobb or had we gone for Amad last year would have helped us in our stead.

I would rather Moyes brought out the best in them like the folks you quote towards the end there.

I would rather we went for relatively off-kilter players like Alvaro Rodriguez, Hugo Guillamon, Marin Ljubicic, Carlos Forbs or Jose Gaya.

Have we ever been actually been linked with Delap or McAtee?

Oscar Bobb signed a new 5-year deal at City last year, he's going nowhere

Marc Guiu is not leaving Chelsea either

linked in the summer dont jinx us lol

Nope mate which exactly makes me think we may actually be interested, if we'd been heavily linked it'd mean a. That they were utter turbo gash - as frankly the media only ever kink us with crap because we aren't a sky club. And b. We likely had no interest as the media know jack sh about who we are after mostly.

Bobb is one of the most hyped up city youngsters I can remember, did actually seem like he was gonna feature a bit this season until the bad injury near the end of pre season.
