I mean, we scream for about 15 new signings every summer.

The sensible ones do but as we saw in the summer with the dogs abuse myself and others got for daring to suggest we needed another forward/wide player in when Kean/Walcott went out the natives were fumin "wot u onna bout lad Richy and Simms can cover CDL n Toshun will be like a nu signin."

Same with the RB situation as apparently Kenny is good enough as he has two working legs.

Unless something is massively broke our fans aint that bothered. All people cared about was the midfield whilst realistically we still needed another 2-3 positions addressing be it loans or whatever.

You were calling for DCL to be replaced, don’t act like you were calling for a backup striker to be signed.

the other, at 28, is having his second most productive season out of 12

it was called perspective as the majority of us knew those 2 were crap

We would be calling him deadwood and wondering why we can’t find a buyer for him in 2 years time.

Yeah, there's the gamble. But then again we've clearly gone short term anyway with the likes of James/Allan etc.

Three-year contract, option for a fourth.

It's just that type of decisiveness/move in general that could have really boosted us.

He obviously wouldn't help us solve a crap defence but he'd definitely have injected a lot of what we need into our one-dimensional attack.

I haven't a problem with DCL as a squad player - he'll likely get you 7-8 goals a season and chip in/stretch the opposition from the bench.

The problem I have is with him being given the starting 11 spot at the same time we appoint a world class manager, plan to move to a top class stadia and have ambitions long term of Champions League football.

He just isnt good enough unless your ambition is to see us scrap with Burnley and Saints for 10th spot every season.

Lets hope for the same of DCL/Kean when Carlo brings in a proper slotter worthy of the shirt

He did do that on occasions though mate - its just our club have not had proper squad depth since the 80's therefore if Rom wasnt on it then fans would moan as we had no one else.

Its the same now - if Richarlison doesn't turn up on the day neither do we which is why I want another goal scoring CF coming in yet some are happy to persist with the likes of DCL/Kean and wonder why we dont always win when Richy isnt on fire 38 games a season.

Richarlison scored 14 goals last season and his 15 this season has been from start to finish.

DCL couldn't score in a brothel outside of 3 months in 3 years.

Im not disputing he hasn't scored 15 goals - but you'll never see that feat again whereas you will with Richarlison.

And its always often the same suspects who rate utter tosh like DCL & Iwobi

We need a boss player in the middle to shout and cajole the rest. They look rudderless a lot of the time.

Those players tend to be poo,I.E Phil Neville. They shout and cajole to make up for their lack of actual footballing ability.

James was a free, Allan was £20m. They're not £50m signings.

But that's why you'd offset it against selling a player IF you didn't achieve what was needed to cover the costs.

We've gone short term with our main signings and I'm happy with them, but they have only got us so far, as we've seen.

Anyway, I'm fed up of people generally on here saying Zaha is tosh. He objectively isn't. He's up there with the top 3-4 players outside the top six sides, tbh.

The ship has sailed but we desperately need a player of his skill set - pace, quality to drive into the box on the ball and score/create.

Bailey is on fire right now for Bayer, so not sure if he's feasible in January. But need a player of that quality.

a RB is a priority even on loan. Try and punt as many dead wood as possible (Tosun Bolasie etc) If we can afford it a winger.

Well OK! Someone who can put his foot on the ball and dictate play. Modric, Pirlo or whatever.

But what is silly money these days? Arsenal paid £72 million for Pepe who is half the player Zaha is therefore is £50-60 million silly money or actually value for money?

Brands didnt pay £25 million for Gabriel but ended up paying £25 million for a 2nd/3rd choice in Godfrey.

What annoys me with Everton since Moshiri came in was we do everything half arsed - if they just want to abide by FFP and stay comfortably midtable until BMD is built then why not just appoint Alladyce on £6 million a year instead of getting fans excited paying double for Ancelotti at £11.5 million per year?

Why bring in Allan and James Rodriguez who being 29 need to be playing in a team doing things now rather than one being built slowly over time?

For me if you bring in Carlo, James and Allan you look at that squad that finished last season and you go for it - bring in a Zaha, bring in a top drawer defensive midfielder, an attacking fullback to compliment Digne like that Castagne who Leicester signed for £24 million.

Go for it instead of getting the fans all excited to inevitably do business that has a glass ceiling of 8th-12th which is what we could have gotten under Fat Sam spending a quarter of that and keeping the club financially healthy.

Its like WHU fans - had the owners just been honest with them they would have rathered staying at Upton Park than move ground on the promise of large investment competing for the top 6.

Owners have to be honest with the fanbase - you either go for it or you dont... just dont get fans excited, Bring in Carlo as manager and James Rodriguez as a signing but then stop and go sign 2 steady eddie players in Doucoure & Godfrey who wont really push us forward and leave us short in areas like up top, out wide, at fullback so injuries kill our season.

At present with no signings:

Olsen
Coleman Keane Godfrey Digne

Allan Holgate
Doucoure
Rodriguez DCL Richarlison

With signings:

Romero
Coleman Keane Godfrey Digne

Allan Doucoure
Rodriguez
Zaha DCL Richarlison

That front 4 would be lethal. Replace Doucoure with Gbamin once he is fully fit.
