I didn't say I would have been happy with it. Mainly because Koeman had no idea what he wanted to do. But everyone said what they thoght he wanted to do and Carroll would have fit perfectly for that. Thankfully that moon sized fat idiot was found out before he could do any more damage.

Completely agree.

Creative player like Isco would be unreal and then a back up striker with pace that can also play on the wings.

Need to be able to have depth to rotate DCL, Richie and another player through the striker position.

Have mentioned his name before but for Richarlison cover Christos Tzolis, is very much worth intrigue as a January add. Lot of overlap in profile as a physical center drifting leftwing/forward. The greek league will im sure scare off some suitors but it would be reflected in the price. And his numbers have held up in Europa, a place where if he was added hopefully next year he would be relied upon.

Maybe it isnt Tzolis, but a similar profile with a young very high ceiling prospect maybe from a lesser league but with some assurance in Europe output makes a lot of sense as cover. Replacement level back up quality maybe at present, but longterm starter potential in two years time (something important with likely looming sell ons). And if Europa/EU Conference becomes a factor a precedent in his ability to be called upon. Checks a lot of boxes.

Sensible I agree. The thing is other countries have the mutated virus. In fact many more countries have it but wouldn't know it because they don't have the technological equipment to detect it. The situation has come about because the Uk didn't take any action in September by way of raising it as a matter of concern with other countries at an early stage. If they had they would have avoided this targeted reaction

The government is not responsible for this variant spreading, it is people travelling, ignoring lockdown and carrying it with them and not realising. That is where the blame lies.

It does seem a bit odd, what with Nkounkou and Small training with the first team, and Godfrey excelling. However he ticks the "experience" box with over 60 appearances over 4 seasons. Our of contract in the summer so can probably go for a knockdown price.
