I wouldn’t say that... Real Madrid have always been bigger imo and Barca have for the past 10 years or so. They’re are they only clubs that can hand pick players from any other in the world . They pay massive wages , win the ClL the most and the list of players they’ve had in their history dwarfs all others . If they come in for a player of yours... no matter which club you are... the player is forcing a move

If he actually becomes part of the first team picture maybe. But as we've played a bunch of non-left backs there ahead of him I'm not counting it now.

Also he was a free. So long as they aren't on massive wages (Khedira, Bernard) it isn't a big deal to sign anyone on a free.

The transfer of Ronaldo showed Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world. United were arguably better than them at that point, they’d made 2 CL finals back to back, Real Madrid hadn’t been beyond the quarters at that point for a long time. Ronaldo still moved though because they were bigger and he wanted absolute mega stardom.

I agree they are different players, and Sigurdsson has aspects he's better at, but I think Alli is better overall. I do also think Alli fits into a better team easier. A lot of Sigurdssons attributes are about dead ball delivery and being the centrepiece of an ordinary team. Alli is a player who can be a god in a better team.

The big worry with Alli would be the attitude. It would depend on whether Carlo felt he could get him right.

I don’t think he has a bad attitude, Mourinho seems to like to pick on a player and this time it’s Ali. Ali has definitely dropped a level but I remember how lethal he was with Kane not to long ago.

My Spurs supporting friend has said Alli has been average at best for a while swinging more towards woeful. Can you clarify this @Yid4life?

I don't think it's a bad attitude, but he didn't seem perhaps as driven as Kane and Son were. I agree with you, I think Mourinho probably called it wrong with Alli though. He seemed to have tough love for Alli and Son and an arm around the shoulder for Kane. I suspect Alli probably needed more an arm around the shoulder.

Mourinho did say though, that Ferguson gae him 1 instruction-sign Dele Alli. He viewed him as better than Pogba and all other midfielders. At his best Alli is world class, but we haven't seen that for a bit.

In an ideal world he would be like Barry. But khedira has not spent his career in England like Barry. Reading the game is a lot easier when you are familiar with the league and up with the pace of the Premier league.

Very good planning I think. Portugal is now going to be Wolves/Spain. Brands has the dutch contacts and Steinsson (sp) the scandinavians.

I hope we bring in 2 players in Jan. One u21 and one starter out of the blue.

Id be very happy though if we managed to offload 5 or 6 players. That should be priority.

If you really look ahead 2 years then possibly Doucoure/Onyango + Allan/Davies + Gbamin/?

The big move should be Camavinga to compete with Gbamin for the defensive midfield position....id go for him in Jan...need to move fast.

Otherwise Zakaria/Guimaraes in the summer.

Camavinga would be unreal but not a chance he comes here, and that we spend that amount of money in January

Completely agree.

Creative player like Isco would be unreal and then a back up striker with pace that can also play on the wings.

Need to be able to have depth to rotate DCL, Richie and another player through the striker position.

In fairness though some of the value of our players will have decreased due to previous poor form. Sigurdsson for example will have minimal value, same with Tosun, I doubt Mina is valued at 30 mill anymore. Obviously the converse is true as well that the likes of DCL Holgate and Richarlison will be far more than we paid for them.
