I think a couple of loan to buy people in (an across the line rapid forward from Italy and a box to box/creative midfielder), and somehow con a club into taking the 15-20 players we have on the books who aren't getting near the team ill be the strategy for this window.

Both have still got an awful lot to prove before they can be considered targets for top 4 chasing clubs.
The one player that would really boost our attack is Zaha imo. But we’ve been here before and it looks like he will end up wasting his career at Palace. He can play right across the front tho, and would improve our attack no end.

Digne - and Coleman for that matter - are mediocre defenders. Digne is outstanding going forward, and Coleman broke through back in 2010 not for his defending but for his surging runs into attack. Carlo will need to find a balance. Digne is a quandary. James is an attacker pure and simple, a glorious one at that, so you price in any defensive ramifications when you pick him. But Digne is a defender, albeit one who doesn't defend. We've definitely defended better with proper defenders across the back four and Doucoure in his favoured position. The key will be to move James central, with Sigurdsson as cover, and put some pressure on Digne in terms of team selection. People misguidedly say that James is a luxury. But James does what James is supposed to do: create - and how. A luxury is a defender who doesn't defend. It's up to Carlo to find a balance.
What about Diaz from Real Madrid on loan? Before the season he was basically superfluous to them but no idea if he's gotten more game time there...
