It seems likely to me, and if they do, then an incoming signing is possible. Especially if we can move Besic and Bolasie as well.

Id be surprised if it was more than one signing as most targets are unavailable in January. Also, any permanent signing must improve the team, and that’s the real challenge in January.

Think we'll get a Milik type cheap CF to back up DCL & someone like Khedira on loan until the seasons end to give Gbamin time to get back to fitness / for Carlo to assess him before the summer.

I think this applies to about 20% of what you say (maybe 40% if you exclude the Zaha summers) but...

I haven’t seen Milik play, but his Wiki page makes grim reading. He has done both his anterior cruciate ligaments and seems finished.
He could well be worse than Tocsun and Bernard.
His career record is not great either. He’s been a disaster signing for Napoli.

However, I take your point over Kendra.

Think it depends on our budget - if we want a back up to DCL do we spend £20 million+ on another Kean type signing or go for someone like Milik/King with 6 months left on their deals for a few quid who'll be happy being on the bench for most of the time?

It also depends on whether we are keeping Kean.

Anyway, Bernard and Tocsun are both happy to sit on the bench. So Whoever we bring in would have to be better than them. otherwise what’s the point?

I wouldn’t waste money an anyone who doesn’t improve us. I would prefer no deals than stop gaps.

Hasn't been great at Napoli yet still has scored a goal ever 2.5 games - thats a ratio not far off the top level strikers. Keep him fit and not many teams would have a better CF sat on the bench outside the top 3-4 sides.

My benchmark left back would always be Pyscho Pat,big,strong,reliable,could use the ball but generally just gave it easy to those who were better on it than him, different days I know but Godfrey is playing very similar in my opinion to Pat.

Godfrey is closer to Pyscho than to Baines for sure.

We need to play Richarlison CF if DCL is out...pointless to sign clearly poor injury prone flops.

Milik had one prolific season at Ajax and one prolific season at Napoli. The rest of his career stats are poor.
I don’t see the point in replacing Tocsun with another high earning bench warmer.
There is no point moving Bernard and Tocsun on, only to replace them with similar calibre players.
