On that note I'm still really miffed about not getting Martinez from Arsenal. Just watching him the couple times I have, guy claims everything, he catches shots, he commands his box, he doesn't go insane at his defence when a shot comes at him, everything Pickford DOESN'T do really.

He's really good but it isn't like Romero where we just needed them to give him to us. He cost Villa real money and I don't think we were in the position to spend that on a keeper.

Nor do I think we need to. Quality in net can be found relatively cheap.

He wouldn't have joined us while we have England's number 1.

I'm honestly not as anti-Pickford as most, I think he's prone to mistakes, but then 99% of Keepers do whoopsies, I also think he makes some good stops.

But, as I've said, replacing him wouldn't be THAT difficult, finding somebody to buy him is the issue.

I was totally on the Giroud bandwagon when he was linked a few seasons ago when he was at Arsenal. I think he is great and able to play up top alone. I also think DCL would have learnt a lot from him. I reckon he is well under rated.
