Everton January transfer window 2021

If Carlo plans for James to stay out wide going forward then Ward Prowse would suit that position Gomes/Siggurdsson operates in.

Been on about him for a few weeks and saw Hoddle mentioned him to us/Spurs in the papers.

Only 26, cracking set pieces and runs his socks off pressing in the midfield. Would cost a fair bit of dough though.

Doubt he's going anywhere. Been at Southampton since he was about 8, he's captain of his boyhood club.

As would any player who is the quality we need in our squad.

Does the window open tomorrow?

You know he would start hitting row Z every single free kick as soon as he pulled on the royal blue.

Commentators still describe siggy as a set piece expert with his entire 1 FK scored for us in his career here!

Mentioned in the echo the other day
Are we not back to signing players from ManU reserves and Wigan thanks to Brexit work permits?

How can we ever sign anyone like this again?
Being in Europe and a convenient half Spanish/Portuguese passport was the only way anyone in the UK could get around the problem before the racists chainsawed our own limbs off by dragging us out of the EU.

Spurs have been top 4 for what 4 of the last 5 seasons. Been to a champions league final. And who was the last top player you bought of a rival top 6 club in England

I think you're helping to prove my point.
Not one player and that would be because if any player was to move to Spurs from any of the other 5 clubs it would be a step down, just like it would be good player going from Arsenal to Everton (or Spurs.)
Top players leave Spurs to go to those 5 clubs, not the other way around.

So youre saying if Arsenal finish mid table and we finish top 4 and throw a wedge of cash at his agent he would automatically say no?

Ancelotti + new stadium + top players + big money

OR

Arteta + average team + london lifestyle

Dont think its a forgone conculusion

Btw Saka has played LB / LM / LW / CM / RW

Not sure why you think hes just a LB?

Id actually have him at RW with James playing centrally...

mate their stadium is still going to be better than ours if we ever get it built ... people love living in London over Liverpool generally ... arteta will be replaced by someone else .. what your saying is like Leicester ... they were champions and yet they can’t attract top players ... arsenal still attract top players

But city & Chelsea changed that. I get it’s different now. But it’s up to Everton and Ancelotti the owner to change it.

I doubt we will ever be in a position to buy Utd/city or Liverpool’s best player. But It could be different with spurs/arsenal and even Chelsea In the future

If ever there was a season for a Kanchelskis type signing to play right wing for us this is it. If we somehow managed to get a real baller on that right flank and James came back in behind him DCL and Richarlison we could absolutely fly in the second half of the season with our solid defence. Similar to Liverpool 12/13 when they brought in Coutinho and Sturridge in January and suddenly paired them with Suarez.

I think we need a mobile defensive midfielder to get the best out of this team. Someone who'll sit in front of the back four and fill in when the full backs bomb forward.

Allow allan to do what he's best at getting round the pitch and winning the ball back. Will let Doucoure be more of a attacking threat and arrive in the box late. Coleman can bomb on James can drift in and not have to worry about getting back. A defensive midfielder will really balance out the side in my opinion.

In terms of wingers because I do think we need one. I'd love someone like bailey who can play both wings i just think the main position we need filling is a dm.

I also don't think James can start games in the Premier league as a 10 he weakens the midfield too much and will expose us in the center of the park. In this league you need a strong midfield, you cant have any passengers.

If we want to go back to the attacking style of football we were playing at the start of the season but have the defensive solidity of our recent form then a dm is critical for that in my opinion. I was hopeing that gbamin would be that player but I've resigned him to being like Mccarthy after his injuries, it's nice if he's fit for a game but we cant rely on him.

As I lived in London for 5 years I prefer living back in Liverpool. If you have money London is s great City. But try buying a flat or house and see how much it costs

I’m curious as to how City and Utd and Liverpool manage if London is so awesome.
(I live and work in London; it’s wonderful in many ways. But I would prefer to live in Liverpool. )
