We need cover for the forward position and a RB tho that could, conceivably, be pushed off until summer as we look...ok there. But a DM who just sits and breaks up anything in the middle absolutely would be a huge bonus to us. Allan likes to push forward with the ball, it really looks like he's just a straight box-to-box. We need someone who shields the defence. Would change us completely.
Jerdy Schouten is the man for the job

obligatory vid:

I actually think once Digne is back fit providing we sign a top drawer RW who has an end product Holgate could do a job long term in the RB position.

Having 3 CB's on the pitch whilst Digne gets forward on the left with DCL, James, Richarlison + top drawer RW gives us a nice blend of attack but also defence.
I can see that, but I still think they will go for a proper RB. And I wouid actually play Godfrey ahead of holgate at RB if we had to pick one.

But that destroys the point you tried to make, which is that Zaha is a late bloomer.

Not at all - both Ings and Zaha were seen as young players with potential and were signed by bigger clubs as squad players - both flopped and are now top performers at Saints/Palace.

Ings banged 20+ goals last season and is an England regular and Wilf is Palace's best player and starting to add goals to his game which wasnt the case at Utd/his early Palace days.

Neither were anywhere near as consistent years ago imo.

They both play for teams they care about and teams that set up to play to their strengths.

I doubt either do well at other clubs, personally.

I think if Zaha got a big-money move he would give up, currently hes hungry and fighting to step up, if he gets his step up, I think he goes missing big time.

I like him, at his best hes unplayable, but hes very rarely at his best and not worth the 50-60m he would cost.

Some players just suit clubs, think the boy Grealish is the same.

Heard from a guy at work who said it will be easier for premiership clubs to buy South American players now and a lot harder to buy EU players, is that right ?

and if so anyone from South America linked ?
