Well Bailey would cost £40 million+, Celik £20 million+ so no way could we go splurge another big sum on a top striker.

Big risk though - Toney is 25 in March and has only played well in the Fizzy Pop League. For what Brentford would want (£25-30 million) its a huge risk on a player who would essentially be a bench player getting 10-15 minutes a game.

King for £6-8 million makes more sense to me considering the need to spend in other areas also.

I spose if he’s only 6-8 mil then that could be a good option as backup for DCL

I actually do agree with this to a degree, I guess the issue I have is if we sign King on decent wages and he becomes another hard to move on drain a la Bolasie, Tosun etc. If he does well then of course that’s moot but it’s another financial risk when you think about it

Yeah King really isn’t the worst shout in the circumstances. Won’t need time to adjust to the league, brilliant work ethic on the pitch, has pace and is strong.

Would definitely be a stop-gap signing, and I’d doubt he’d set the world alight but there’s only 6 months left on his contract and we need someone who’ll allow DCL to have a rest. Getting rid of Tosun and bringing in King makes a lot of sense imo.
