Everton January transfer window 2021

Loaned out Pennington (which is as good as selling him as his contract expires)

Loaned out Branthwaite.

He’s been busy.
Feel like you and I may have differing views on the word "busy" if loaning out a player going out of contract and we're probably eating the majority of his wages and loaning out a youngster in 19 days counts as "busy".

Window isn’t over yet and there’s no requirement for us to have to trade in each window. Hardly any clubs have a bean to their name after the pandemic. There’s not going to be a queue of willing buyers for the utter dross we have. Brands can’t just invent some.
Big fat Sam?

I agree, his end product can be very frustrating

But atm, he's one of our most creative players over the course of the last month (back to and including the Chelsea game).

Definitely right up there from open play and behind only Sigurdsson in total (who has created 8 chances from set pieces).

Iwobi has also created as many big chances (1) as James in that time - but goes to show we don't create enough big chances!

So, this list is wrong. James has, what, 2-3 assists and then "chances created from open play(INCLUDING assists)", he literally put Sigurdsson through on goal which he, of course, completely ballsed up on. That's literally taking 2 seconds to think about it.

Lies, damned lies and statistics.

The match thread is a car crash and always has been . A game where 90 per cent of posters say we will lose and when it is scoreless at half time we are the worst side in the world ..for 90 plus minutes almost everyone loses all sense of reason
Its definitely a watering hole for instant negativity. A place where the bleach drinkers can get an instant release its their spot. Just like the Lisbon is fine establishment for great homosexuals the match thread is a place for them.

5 minutes of play without attack and they release years of boil. Will still stick the knife in on a player they dont like thats just scored. Like good goal Gilfy you iceberg.

But an iceberg actually moves?

Sorry, I should have said, this is from December 12th onwards, and just in the Premier League

i'm not certain we are. I just feel like it's a deal which maybe could have been expediated. Are we pushing it enough that we want him to leave?

I suppose there's a balance there. We don't want to appear desperate but, as I've said, £5-7m (the reported figure) for Kenny could go a long way atm.
Think you hit the nail on the head with the word balance.

Yeah, as regards Bolasie and Besic I don't have an issue with desperation. Anything to get them off our books but even then it doesn't seem to work.

But as regards other players we need to be careful Toff.

For any sale, 4 things need to happen. We need to want to sell. There needs to be a buying club interested. The player needs to want to go to that club. And the financials need to work for everybody involved. The only one of those things we have full control over is the desire to sell. However strong that desire is doesn't have any influence over the 2 of the other 3.

I've long come to the conclusion that our fringe players are just not good enough to attract much interest and the wages they are on just make them even harder to shift.

The player you chose as an example is possibly one of the few exceptions to the above. But overplay our hand and we then appear desperate which will reflect in the price we eventually bring in.

Probably one more for summer but clips of that lad from Reading, Michael Olise have been floating around the tinterweb recently and he looks electric. £8 mil release clause. The championship has been rich with talent in recent years and they look more and more capable of stepping up immediately. Maddison, Eze, Justin etc.
