Everton January transfer window 2021

Mate, our last 5 games have been flat as f***, we beat a Wolves side in freefall, struggled badly against a Sheff UTD side who had 1 point in the league all season at that point, were lucky against Rotherham and were diabolical against West ham. We are DESPERATE for a spark. I had hoped James would be that spark or, failing that, Richie, it turns out our only real spark at the moment is Iwobi!!

Any of those games could have gone the other way and we would be far less positive than we are.

It is not as bad as I am making out but, we need fresh blood to cement the top half imo.
I quietly do agree but we’ve won 4 of em. Ike you said most of The games could of gone either way (West Ham too) defensively we’re sound, getting Richy, James, digne and Dom fit will boost us massively

Players that we spent real money on and get minimal fed for-

Schniderlin £24m, left for £2m
Niasse £13.5m contract expired.
Theo Walcott £20m loan /end of contract
Williams £12m , loan then contract expired.

Soon to go-
Bolasie £27m, contract will expire.
Besic £4m, contract will expire.

More or less £100m of investment with only £2m return. Madness.

I suspect Tosun will be added to that list and it will be up to £127m.

Can’t ever go down this route again. It could end the club. No January punts please. Only rock solid first team buys.
I agree awful buys yeh but why do clubs or mainly us focus so much on sell on fees? We buy players to win games and keep at the club until they ain’t good enough. The players you’ve mentioned have all left for little because there best days are behind them, you can’t honestly say you think we should selling those players for a profit?

My point is that they have gone for nothing. Nada.
Niasse and Martina haven’t even found clubs after leaving us they were that bad.
Im not expecting a profit, but to not recover say £30 or £40m on a 127m outlay is really incredibly bad.

We aren't the only club to not get return on transfer fees for bad players. Anyway, you're ignoring their wages.

I know that, but this is concentrated into 24 months. It shows how bad our transfer policy was over that period. Not getting fees is limiting what we can do in this window.

Jamie Vardy says hi
Vardy’s played exclusively in this country his whole career though. Zlatan came over at 36 and didn’t look out of place, Dzeko hasn’t played in this league since 2015 and has spent the last 5 years in a much slower league, he wouldn’t have the same impact
