Up to £6m.
From that article

Unsworth and Head of Under-23s recruitment Jamie Hoyland made Gibson one of their main summer transfer targets and following the signings of Josh Bowler, Boris Mathis and Nathangelo Markelo, they have finally landed the in-demand defender.

Not one has made it here

Season and table the way it is, there's a good opportunity there for us to take advantage. Is it likely to be this way next season? Don't know, probably not.

Strengthen now if possible.

Agree here, we can nip in the Champs League spaces unlike last time it happened we will go big in the summer!

Europa League won't help attract a caliber of players we can't already it would have prior to Carlo but Carlo is a bigger pull than the Europa League.

Lots of young, hungry players in the lower leagues. They just don't satisfy the "must be flashy" group for signings.

James Justin & Maddison last night, Watkins, Konsa & Cash at Villa, Eze at Palace, Bowen at West Ham, Che Adams at Saints.
Che Adams is woeful. Konsa is toilet. Not bothered about Watkins or cash.

Ancelotti was Real head coach at the time of the signing but says club president Florentino Perez was behind the transfer.

"When Florentino buys a Norwegian footballer, you simply have to accept it," he writes in his book Quiet Leadership.

"Furthermore, the president decided that he would play three games with the first team as a public relations exercise".

Ancelotti added: "He could be the best player in the world, but I don't care because he was not a player who I asked for. That signing was to do with PR."

We wont be signing him.
To be fair CA is not commenting on the quality of the player just the circumstances of his signing.

He could have been a young Cristiano Ronaldo and Ancelotti would probably have said the same.

Apart from possibly signing young prospects like Branthwaite last year I don't think we are going to spend any money.

Trouble is, he hasn't featured in the matchday squad for Reading since playing as a LB in mid December. I don't think he's injured.

If he's fit his loan needs cancelling and a club who need a left sided CB should take him.

We paid decent money (6 or 7 mil as I recall) and need to see something back.

Odegaard
Isco
Vinicius
Militao
Valverde
Odriozola

They all seem to be currently out of the picture.

Valverde is really the jewel there but i cant imagine Madrid would sell him.

I'd break our transfer record for him in a second.

Militao is totally wasted there, we should be going for him and slotting him in as our new right back -- hes totally dominant there.

Odegaard is an interesting one, i think a loan with an option to buy as he's still got to adapt to the premier league.

Supposedly told Madrid he wants to leave Zat
