I think I may have spotted the slight flaw in your argument....

If a team goes from 442 to 2224 when attacking then imagine the distance for the 2 full backs to get back into defence if they have a deep defence...

lol

Atletico arent deep anymore...probably why Joao Felix is doing better.

Maybe Kean would do better with us if we were more expansive...

This includes Chelsea under Conte right? So yeah that's one. Not that his teams don't press but they aren't the same as City or the RS. Atletico are in great shape to win Spain this year.

Youre the only person to say Chelsea, though Conte did play 3 at the back so a bit different.

Funnily enough, two italian managers.

Atletico arent deep this season...

They still aren't a pressing side.

What about Leicester though Zat? Not seen any response to that massive flaw in your argument...

Kean would only have a chance of doing well for us if we played with 2 up top .
However he almost certainly isnt coming back and we very rarely if ever play with 2 central strikers so it's a moot point Zat.

its being reported that Zeki Celik would rather join Roma than us. No idea if this is true,

I forgot about them...easily done :)

Would you say were like Leicester then?

Agree he'd do well with a partner.

He should just be used as a finisher.

Not especially. They were set up to draw teams in to crossing from wide, then countering - almost entirely reliant on Vardy's pace & finishing in that respect.

We're not as resilient defensively, but more expansive moving forwards. I don't see an immediate resumption of Carlo switching to Digne & Coleman though. Retaining one of Holgate or Godfrey in the full back roles ensures we are less exposed to the counter & takes pressure off the base of the midfield - it does limit out attacking threat though, and we're reliant on individual creativity rather than being able to overload one side of the field then utilise the quick switch to free space.

Envisage it'll be played like a game of chess - look at the opposition, see where their pieces are and use our pieces in the most suitable manner.

It does look more like an early 90s Serie A setup right now.
