But, whilst I agree.Just reading an article about chelsea and how Kai Havertz looks like an academy player(pinch of salt from o'hara) but he cost £70m I think we need to realise sometimes we are nowhere near that level of spending, our highest is £45m, Bruno Fernandes cost £67m.
So I guess I never really looked at it in those terms. We all go on about competing with these clubs but we are still a mile behind financially. Just thought I'd share my thoughts, catching upto the top when you can't match your rivals financially is hard. You can talk about Uncle Uzzie but we are still shopping in different markets really.
Don't need to outspend them, just outsmart them.Just reading an article about chelsea and how Kai Havertz looks like an academy player(pinch of salt from o'hara) but he cost £70m I think we need to realise sometimes we are nowhere near that level of spending, our highest is £45m, Bruno Fernandes cost £67m.

Yeah I was going to say at the end that we are now in a better position to attract certain players at least. But, whilst I agree.
We have Carlo, Hamez, we bought Kean, who was very highly rated.
Of course we cant compete for the truly elite players or offer the wages they want, but we are certainly a better prospect than most other nothing clubs in the league.
It is in hindsight but what I mean is we aren't going out spending those sums on highly rated players. Every signing is a gamble regardless of price.Don't need to outspend them, just outsmart them.
Allan, Doucoure, Rodriguez and Godfrey combined cost less than Havertz. That's smart business.
And a new wig thrown in.Another 3 years, highest paid player in the club's history too.
I think a more apt description would be an unpredictable right winger who has disciplinary problems. Definitely not a team player.A cracking right winger.
Spot on mate!Don't need to outspend them, just outsmart them.

They’ve offered him a candy floss machine and a big sack of cocoa power to dust it with. It works a treat unless you try to play in heavy rain in which case it just gives you a sticky back! And a new wig thrown in.
Think you'll find these type of players want CL football, they usually dont want to earn it, they want it on a plate. They are the type that when you dobt get CL football, they put in transfer requests, agents start talking to newspapers and other clubs. Their wages would most likely break any pay structure we have. Not just the fees or wages, though that is important. We have a long way to go.Just reading an article about chelsea and how Kai Havertz looks like an academy player(pinch of salt from o'hara) but he cost £70m I think we need to realise sometimes we are nowhere near that level of spending, our highest is £45m, Bruno Fernandes cost £67m.
