We don't have two players for DCLs position though, we have DCL and we can move a forward who is first choice for a wider position if we have to. If we sell Tosun after loaning out Kean (and even Simms) we are gambling hard. This is compounded by the fact that we are probably losing Bernard and possibly even Gordon. I'm not opposed to trimming our squad, or indeed the players that we are trimming, but we can't be serious about CL qualification if we have zero reserve forwards.
 
Imagine Liverpool went into the second half of the season with only Mane and Firmino, and Firmino had been badly stinking the gaff out for months.

You'd fully expect Liverpool to tank down the league in the second half of the season, and I'm pretty sure the same will happen to us if we go with DCL and Richarlison:
  • DCL cannot be effective without Richarlison playing well
  • Richarlison is in his worst form since playing for us and has been very bad for about three months
  • Richarlison's goalscoring record this season is awful
  • DCL cannot continue to play every single game - he'll be ruined by March
It's a crazy decision to make and I'm convinced we'll regret it and it'll cost us a possible place in the Champions League.

He contributes a lot more than that. Last season we played two up front most of the time Richy was one of them so he scored more. This season we play Dcl as a lone striker in most cases and Richy out wide left so I don’t even understand why you keep coming back for Richy who is one of the most important player of this squad. So who are going to replace him not some Brentford player right?

To get rid of Tosun (hopefully loan with obligation to buy), Bernard, Bolasie, Lossl and (Besic please) with save us a lot of wages there. Delph and Kenny could go too.
 
Would really love one or two in - striker and cm, as I think the top 4 is there for us this season, but I don't think we will be alone in not signing players this window, if that's what comes to pass.

If so, I just hope Carlo can keep working his magic and we get some good luck with injuries (were so due some!).

I'll be doing cartwheels if we can punt toshun, Bernie, Delph, besic along with yala and lossl, as they have been festering and stinking out the squad since they signed - I wish them all the best, but they have done nothing for us except pinch wages, and it opens up the squad to the young players, so win-win.
