Can you blame him?
Yes.

Gordon was our best attacking player when we came back from shutdown. He carried that form into the new season and was outstanding in the early league cup rounds outperforming experienced players like Bernard, Iwobi and Siggy. Then came the much publicised knocking on the managers door episode for which he was apparently "taught a lesson" as he hardly played a game despite being the obvious replacement for Richarlison when he was banned.

Now the lad looks a player bereft of form and confidence and on the verge of going on loan.

I love Carlo, he's an absolutely brilliant manager and we're very lucky to have him. But he got this one wrong.

Unpopular opinion (awaits abuse) Id get josh king in as back up for Dom, he’s got bags of pace and would play back up. Heard that he wants £135k a week but I think that’s rubbish
It's a reason to take him on loan now (on his current, lower wage) with an option to buy.

King could do a job for us for the remainder of the season, but we don't need him for any longer than that.

This smacks of the game at St James`, they are nicking this! Nearly 60% possession against Newcastle, NEWCASTLE!!!!

Need to be better second half but feels like the lads are bottling this one, I hope not...

He's out of contract in the summer, Bournemouth won't be loaning him out

We have literally done exactly that with Bolasie. And Walcott. The circumstances at Bournemouth will dictate IF they chose to loan him out or not. There's no rule against it.

The fact remains: King on loan from now until the summer makes sense for us. Buying him, however, be it now or in the summer, makes no sense at all.

One cock-up against Newcastle in recent times might be put down to one of those days. If we fail to win this today, I make that four cock-ups. Four. I think aspiring to European football and more is "ambitious", to use that disingenuous term beloved of the Tories, when Newcastle United under Steve Bruce has your number.

We've done that trying desperately to get wages off the books though for players who are not in any plans.

Bournemouth would only save on Wages with king, nobody is paying a fee for him now so in their interest they may as well have him in and contribute to them potentially coming back up. Different circumstances in the comparison. Bournemouth are 6th and King scoring a few or contributing for 5 months could well be worth more than just getting a small fee for him now or even just saving on his wages.
