It's damning of Brands that apparently Josh King is our only option for this on the last day of the window and can name his wages as he likes.

We need someone yes but why is the thinking that people should be enthralled at whoever it is they bring in? It’s like saying “moan if we do, moan if we don’t” that completely misses the points people make. They’ve had till at least October to put some plans in place.

agree on that. just thinking as a squad player he would be ok / better than Tosun. And true if his wage demands are exceptional than we should not do it. King would all come down to any fee, wages, and contract length for me. In theory he ticks a few boxes, so I don't hate the idea of him coming in for 6-18 months seeing as we have no attackers to speak of in the squad, but if we're talking a 3-4 year deal and/or big wages then it's a bad deal that we probably need to swerve. Would have made a lot more sense in the last window I think.

Its hard to see any other future than him being deadweight in 12 months time on huge wages and we'll be in that familiar situation once again.

If we qualify for the Europa League then he is exactly the type of player we could do with next season....versatile and quick.

If we finish tenth though and have to have another revamp in the summer...

Surely a Josh King in the hand is no better than a Bernard and a Cenk in the Bush?

More suited to the pace of the premier league. However, he is not the answer and would be clearly a panic buy

I thought a couple of season's ago Josh King would be a decent back up.

I wouldn't want to be paying him crazy wages and I honestly don't believe there is anything to the link.

We really needed an additional forward during the last transfer window and one wasn't brought in. Part of the DoF role is to identify player's needed for the position and act in the best interests of the club (quality and attitude of player, fee and wages). If we do bring King in at the last minute it makes you wonder why now and is he the best from a varied selection of available player's we've identified. Because to be honest it looks like a lazy option in a panic and that's from someone who'd think he'd be fine for half a season.
