It's like Everton's own version of Coronation Street / Young and the Restless

The epic drama of Andriy Yarmolenko is about to turn another chapter. This on again – off again saga of Tolkienesque proportions is back with a different twist. Dynamo Kiev president Ihor Surkis has now turned around yet again and said that Yarmolenko could be available for £20million, and that he would not spoil a move for the forward. This figure is lower than the £24million that was last quoted in January. As reported by the tabloid media

‘We cannot spoil the career of Andrey Yarmolenko, Aleksandar Dragovic and others who need to be let go,' Surkis said. ‘We can look for a replacement, but the primary task is to give a chance to young players.'

Yarmolenko is a key member of the Ukraine squad that qualified for Euro 2016 this summer as well as the Kiev side that were eliminated from the Champions League by Manchester City.

Everton's fascination with the Ukrainian has been a constant of the Premier League transfer rumor mill. Click here for a blow-by-blow recap of the Toffees flirtation with the winger. Like a surreal character in a Nicholas Sparks movie (ask your better half who he is, she'll know), Everton thought they had their man, and then lost him, then found him, and then lost him again, ad nauseam.

Pretty much every team in the Premier League top six have been linked with the player, but surely the Blues deserve their man due to sheer persistence. Even if Roberto Martinez is not the man in charge at Goodison Park next season, a player of Yarmolenko's quality would elevate the club and give Ross Barkley something to think about over the summer.

Maybe new owner Farhad Moshiri could call up Kiev chairman Surkis and work something out.
