Everton confirm Lukaku to return to training via Royal Blue Mersey
Everotn have confirmed that
Romelu Lukaku is to return to Finch Farm after Belgium's friendly against Portugal was cancelled.
The Red Devils were due to play Portugal at the King Baudouin Stadium Brussels on Tuesday but that will now not take place following terror attacks in the city that killed 31 people and injured hundreds more.
The Belgium FA released a statement on Wednesday confirming the game was off, saying:
"For security reasons and precaution, the City of Brussels has asked the Belgian FA to cancel the match Belgium – Portugal on 29 March.
"The match of our Belgian Red Devils against Portugal, scheduled Tuesday night at the King Baudouin Stadium, will not take place.".
The national team had also cancelled Tuesday's training session in wake of the attacks and as a mark of respect for the victims.
Given Belgium are not due to play any more matches during the international break Lukaku will return to
Everton and begin preparations for the trip to Old Trafford to play Man Utd on April 3.
