Back when I was younger I hated McFadden. Well didn't "hate" him per-say, but hated the fact he thought he was much better than he was. The amount of times he'd try and skin a fullback 3 times over when he had neither the pace of trickery to pull it off was frustrating. The fact he was the golden boy of Scottish football for a bit seemed to go to his head. And being the golden boy of Scottish football is nothing to write home about when you consider the likes of David Goodwillie, Kenny Miller, Chris Burke and Shaun Maloney have all been that

I had a little soft spot for McFadden during his first time here. That Charlton goal alone gave him a lot of credit in the bank for me.

A good lad, really...can't compare him with primadonnas like Bentley and that.

Yikes, I've got a blind spot with Holmes and McDonald...don't seem to remember

them at all. Just checked Wiki to refresh and both played for us since I've been following, still drawing a blank.

Getting old, lads...

McDonald was alright when he moved to central midfield to be honest. Although he was symptomatic of the drop in class of player we saw in the Colin Harvey years.

100% agree! Athletic yes; but also a truly awful passer of the ball.

David Johnson. Went to Liverpool via Ipswich and lorded the fact he was a red at heart. Then came back to us to finish his career and pick up one final wadge of money before disappearing again. The professed his love for liverpool all over again.

No but I never liked him. His performances never pleased me. The fact that he criticised Everton after he left us doesn't make it better
