Transfer Rumour Everton poised to make £25m bid for Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney

The Echo running stories that were in The Daily Record near enough a week ago is hilarious. What a joke of a local paper we have.
Haven't bought this paper since it apologised on behalf of the city to the Juventus fans when the RS played them for the 1st time since Heysel.

Love the way you think getting paid 15k a week and beating farmers each week can compare to earning 80k a week and playing against some of the best players in the world every week.

Puff, puff, pass.

Tierney plays against the best players in the world when he plays for Celtic in the Champions League mate. I can understand why any player would want to leave Scottish football to play in the Premier League, but Tierney is a real Celtic supporter, not a badge kisser, and the main reason he would go to Everton would be money, and the possibility of eventually moving on to Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, or even your close neighbour. From the info l've heard, he has already turned down a move to an EPL club.

If Virgil van Dijk had signed for Everton from Celtic, the Everton fans would have been making the same points then, as they're making about Tierney on this thread. The fact is, Tierney is a cracking young player, and Everton will be doing well to get him. I know for a fact that Spurs were looking at Tierney, and Ajer.

Some of the opinions on this thread are, to say the least, ill informed, and in some cases, like the one that Celtic wouldn't sign a Muslim player, absolutely bizarre. The arrogance of some of the Everton fans here is absolutely breath taking, especially considering the lack of success the club has had over the last 20 years. Tommy Graveson didn't exactly set the heather on fire when he was up against these "farmers" you speak of.

If Tierney does sign for Everton, and in my opinion it looks like Celtic want to sell one of our top players, you should be really happy about it, as you'll be getting an absolutely fantastic young player, who can only improve.

All good points, we arent stupid, we know what we are, if KT does come down and is a star, we are all very aware that he will be moved on, like every other decent player we have had for the last 30 years.

But the SPL is a complete farce IMO, im entitled to that view, its my viewpoint.

Actually when we were linked to VVD, most people were quite happy that we signed Mori instead of him, the success rate of players from the SPL in recent years isnt great. I mean Scott Sinclair failed down here, but hes Messi lite up there.

I mean sure KT can play 6 games a season versus decent oppo, thats if you make it past the qualifiers, I suspect you will struggle to even get past Rosenborg this year, watch this space.

The facts are that you play in a 1 team league, so comparing yourselfs to Everton who play in the most competitive league in the world is an utter joke mate.

Since Celtic have won 6 in the row there have been 4 different winners of the Title down here, but crack on, keeping thinking your anything but a nothing club in the grand scale of things and dont worry, we will do the same.

In what way is the SPL a farce? Is it because Celtic have dominated it for 7, not 6, years? In that case you can include the Bundesliga, and Serie A, in the farce category. As for the EPL, if it hadn't been for Russian, and Kuwaiti, owners deciding they wanted to splash out some of their vast fortunes, how many titles would Man Utd have won? It would have been embarrassing the amount league titles United would have won, if Chelsea, and Man City, hadn't won the lottery with their owners.

Scott Sinclair failed down there? You ought to tell that to the Swansea fans. Also, he must have done something right for Man City to buy him, but hey ypu know best. Scott had an outstanding first season at Celtic, and a disappointing second season. I would say the term Messi lite, like some of your other opinions, is a tad ill informed. Like I said, Tommy Graveson came up here and flopped against the "farmers" you dismissed so arrogantly.

There's a good chance Celtic will struggle against Rosenberg, as the cub has four players at the World Cup, and I think we will struggle without them. Maybe Celtic should consider breaking their ban on signing Muslim players, eh? I wonder what Martin Dahlin would make of clubs treating players of an ethnic background badly?

I didn't make any comments on how big a club Celtic were, I don't know where you got that from, just on the outrageous, and utterly misplaced, arrogance of some posts on here, some of them from your good self.

Other German teams bay bayern have gone far in Europe. Same in italy.
You can't compare dortmund, leverkusen, roma, napoli etc with the likes of Kilmarnock and Dundee United.
That's the competition bayern and Juventus face. So no their leagues are not a farce
