Transfer Rumour Everton poised to make £25m bid for Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney

In what way is the SPL a farce? Is it because Celtic have dominated it for 7, not 6, years? In that case you can include the Bundesliga, and Serie A, in the farce category. As for the EPL, if it hadn't been for Russian, and Kuwaiti, owners deciding they wanted to splash out some of their vast fortunes, how many titles would Man Utd have won? It would have been embarrassing the amount league titles United would have won, if Chelsea, and Man City, hadn't won the lottery with their owners.

Scott Sinclair failed down there? You ought to tell that to the Swansea fans. Also, he must have done something right for Man City to buy him, but hey ypu know best. Scott had an outstanding first season at Celtic, and a disappointing second season. I would say the term Messi lite, like some of your other opinions, is a tad ill informed. Like I said, Tommy Graveson came up here and flopped against the "farmers" you dismissed so arrogantly.

There's a good chance Celtic will struggle against Rosenberg, as the cub has four players at the World Cup, and I think we will struggle without them. Maybe Celtic should consider breaking their ban on signing Muslim players, eh? I wonder what Martin Dahlin would make of clubs treating players of an ethnic background badly?

I didn't make any comments on how big a club Celtic were, I don't know where you got that from, just on the outrageous, and utterly misplaced, arrogance of some posts on here, some of them from your good self.

Look mush.

I rate the SPL lower than the Kuwaiti farmers league.

All your crying and teeth gnashing wont change my view.

Ignorance, arrogance, guilty as charged.

I honestly think he would be a fantastic signing. Not only is he young and would be our leftback for years to come, but he would also be learning from one of the best leftbacks in the league in Baines. I say sign him up!

Other German teams bay bayern have gone far in Europe. Same in italy.
You can't compare dortmund, leverkusen, roma, napoli etc with the likes of Kilmarnock and Dundee United.
That's the competition bayern and Juventus face. So no their leagues are not a farce

At the risk of stating the obvious, it's all relative, and if Scottish clubs were handed to incredible sums of TV money clubs in other countries get, then they would be much better teams, and do better in Europe. Basically what we have in England is the arrogance of supporters basking in the reflected glory of teams like Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, and, dare I say it, Liverpool.

Supporters of English clubs, who are there to make up the numbers, actually talk like they support one of the top five EPL clubs, and dismiss other leagues as a farce. I actually heard on Talk Sport a supporter of Portsmouth saying Celtic and Rangers were Mickey Mouse. Feckin Portsmouth!!! Since I first got into football, their club has been in complete obscurity, apart from a short spell when they spent money they couldn't afford, and now they've reverted back to the place they came from. I also heard a Coventry supporter slagging off Celtic and Rangers. At least Coventry were an established top flight English club until fairly recently, but a club who don't even have a feckin stadium trying to lord it over clubs in other countries is laughable to everyone outside the English bubble.

Because for the 118 years since the league was introduced, only 18 season as the trophy not gone to either of you mutants.

If that’s not a farce of a league then I don’t know what is

Mutants? That's not very nice.

I suppose we don't have teams like the mighty Burnley to finish above us right enough, so the competition definitely isn't as fierce up here.

Teams in the spl would be in league two in England. Surely you can see how poor the opposition is. Bar celtic no other team would be in Premier league and probably not in the top half of the championship

Like I said, that's because of the insane amounts of money handed to EPL clubs by Sky. Until Sky appeared on the scene, it would have been reasonably fair to compare the leagues, remembering the England has ten times the population of Scotland. Nowadays, it's totally unfair to compare the leagues. It's one thing saying some leagues are stronger than others, but its a completely different thing calling other leagues a joke, and comparing them with made up Kuwaiti leagues.

Using that criteria, would you say it was fair enough for Man City fans to dismiss Everton as a joke club because they had less than half the points tally of City? Not for one second would I say the Scottish leagues are anywhere near the standard of the English leagues, but it's also fair to say some clubs in England are nowhere near the standard of the top clubs.

Or, you'd just be paying more for the same bang average players..."Hmmm, 120 per week for Man U or Partick Thistle...tough choice"

Can't yousejust agree on this

The Scottish league is pretty terrible yo be fair.

But if Celtic rangers where in the prem they'd deffo be up there with the right investment. Massive clubs with massive fan bases
