Perhaps some of the CBs may look better if we had competent full backs? I think it’s encouraging so far. If we’re sweeping Baines and Rooney out it would show that sentimentality is over and pace and youth might be order of the day.

Spot on mate, the whole pressing system with three at the back relies on two wing backs with a good engine, or the whole thing stalls. I'd be made up with this signing if it came off, proper future planning for a change.

Baines and Coleman are competent full backs. Keane and Williams still look crap.

£25mil for one of the best young left backs in Europe would be a steal. It's a position we urgently need to fill and he's a young, hungry lad with no ego whatsoever and a great attitude. A left sided Seamus would be very welcome indeed.

Let's not forget James Madison went for £25mil and he's done nothing in his career in comparison, including an uneventful stint in the SPL the season before last...
