I think that if Tierney does come to Everton it would benefit him hugely to work with Baines for a season.
Robertson at Liverpool was allowed time to settle at the club before staking his place and not having the pressure to perform from the first minute could help Tierney settle.
There will be a settling in period where he gets used to every single game being highly competitive rather than most games being foregone conclusions.
Learning from Baines and slowly replacing him as the season progresses would help him learn what is expected as well as providing cover for the club.

I think its way past that stage as all the Everton journo's have been briefed along with the Scottish Journo's too. Also the everton journos saying he is open to the move, how would they know that? There have obviously already been discussions. Whether it goes through is another matter.

I like the player. Tenacious, skilled and plays with confidence. The sky is the limit for his progression so I think he will easily adapt to the premier league.
I think that is a media thing.
Very little is known about most directors of football or even the names of many of them even though they may be hugely influential.
I think we will see Brands take a step backwards in terms of the media spotlight and Silva will be the focus.
I think we may need to accept that the rebuilding process may take longer than many would like or expect. I think we will sign more than one player, but not many more than that.

If it has got this close and loud then Tierney's representatives are clearly letting it known so they can get any other possible club who may actually be in europe to move. If not then certain people may be saying Tierney is ours.

He's good enough to play for a top four English side easily, so if one of them wants him instead of us then we'd be the underdogs in the battle for his signature

If they were interested yes. If they were interested in any player we wanted we’d be the underdogs, so that point is rather irrelevant. The only other clubs mentioned are wolves and Bournemouth and we’ve got people going on as if we’ve said we’re going to bid for Neymar and get laughed at by the whole world.
