Transfer Rumour Everton poised to make £25m bid for Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney

I can't see anything being decided until the Champions League qualifiers are over. We will need him to help us get there, we will get round about £45 million for getting to the group stages. If we don't qualify that could be the trigger to cash in on him. If we do get there, another season of him in the Champions League shop window could demand an even higher fee for him and draw in more competition for his signature. At home against Man City he was superb, he scored and set up Dembele for his second

He also got sent for a hotdog for 1 of Citys goals.

Your last qualifier is after the window shuts.

It will be done after your first.

boo hoo we’re actually signing a quality player

Yawn, actually nobody knows he's a quality play. Kean, sandro and klassen all looked like quality players till we signed them. On stupidity high wages and now we can't get rid of them and are paying them a fortune.

Also my main point was these guys obviously know sweet fa about the deal and are just using it to get listeners for there crap podcast.

Seeing how brands has been banging on about trimming the wage bill to throw some 21 year old a stupidly high wage.

But no carry on being "that guy"

Wow, didnt expect that.

He's better than what we have currently, he'd grab 15-20 goals and we'd sell him on after a year for £100m+ to a big club desperate for a goalscorer, as he wouldn't have outright failed at United and he's scored on the big stage at this World Cup too.

You'd have to be a full on idiot not to have him back for even £60-70m - it just makes sense.

Im asuming they mean its a rising wage on his current ability and factoring in enough money to dislodge him from celtic I'd say 85k is probably a ball park figure. the rising to 145k over 5 years is hugely risky if he flops but

Yeah I understand that but my issues with what they're saying is:

a) this is like something Steve Walsh wold offer someone and we were supposed to be moving away from things like that.

And

B) I believe they are chatting absolute crap

‘That guy’ trusts brands to find us the talent to make us a competitive team once again and don’t see the point of getting annoyed over a players wages after weve sold two players already saving 200,000 a week

Baines is no longer at the required level. Would rather take a chance on someone who could be than stick with someone who definitely isn’t. I’m not sure what some people want. A highly sought after player with CL experience is rumoured and people want to keep Baines?! I guess anyone apart from Marcelo would be derided and even he probably would be for being too old or too attacking. Moan moan moan moan.

If we buy him, it would be our biggest statement in the market since Lukaku.
Definitely would be a statement signing.
I think everyone that talks of Baines staying is advocating him as a solid backup if we are to sign Tierney. I mean a 6 month injury to Tierney and in our brave new world we'd be back to Martina.:(

..Robinson or Connolly surely.

It's not getting annoyed its seeing sense. Our wage bill at the minute is astronomical compared to our incomings and 200k a week is litraly nothing compared to what we need to shift. Saving 200k compared to what we need to save is the equivalent of saving your John Thomas from lava by lying down in it and lifting your hips up.

Save 200k spend nearly half of that on a unproven kid, left back from the Scottish leauge, doesn't make good business sense to me.

Every signing is a gamble

He has more Champions League experience than our entire squad put together

Go figure

I don’t know why we can’t juat find creative solutions like everyone else does. Kenny covering leftback, Robinson being given a game, a midfielder like Besic doing a job for a while, switching to 3 at the back and playing an attacking wing back instead. Allardyce has so many other options available last season other than just putting Martina at left back but he didn’t try any of them.
