John Stones transfer saga

Let's be honest here anyway, we could have a prime Nesta and Cannavaro partnership at the back and we would still be wank because we have Tim Howard in between the sticks FFS!!!

no it won't, he's as good as a chelsea player. you know it, i know it, everyone here knows it... just a matter of how much we get now.
Well thanks for telling me what I know because up until then I'd thought , I thought he would still be a Everton player on sept 1st.
They're quite a large team
Large yes but compared to the likes of Barca, Madrid, Bayern and (gags) Utd they ain't all that.

Or the Russian would bring in Putin's KGB connections and stab Bill in the leg with a ricin filled pellet launched from an umbrella.

Or they'll put Polonium into Bill's half time cup of tea.

You know it. I know it. We all know it.

He'd still survive. He'd be lying on a hospital bed bald as a coot telling ITV News about Dave Hickson. Only a nuclear blast will end that feller's grip on the trainset.

I've been really encouraged by the way Carragher, Lawrenson, Barnes, Owen, Aldridge and all those other valuable opinion formers have come out in force again to make sure a young talent stays at a good traditional club that brought him through and gave him a chance. Some real solidarity and consistency there.

You all caught that right lads?

What?

Was this reported in the Liverpool ECHO ?

2 weeks ago SSN was full of ex players slamming Sterling for wanting to leave Liverpool....

Today, Sky has a Chelsea player (Cahill) on talking about Stones & encouraging him to join his club, despite the fact no fee or deal has even been agreed nor has Stones requested to leave.....

Shameless!....

As for any potential transfer...there is absolutely no reason for us to sell.
Stones' value is going up....and with another good season with us, he'll have even more options than Chelsea....he'll command a bigger transfer fee & bigger salary, its Win Win for both Everton & Stones....He'll play every week with us this season, that's certainly not a guarantee at Chelsea....

Its a shame the media are being so blatantly 2 faced, to point out the positives for Stones to stay put and develop his game for the better of his long term career...

To be fair to Cahill (and I appreciate this has probably been said already here), there is a massive gap when it comes to John Stones learning the game in that neither Jags or Distin will have taught him how to racially abuse an opponent, or how to cheat on your wife by banging a teammates girlfriend, or even how to laugh at Americans who have just seen the worst terror attack of the century take place.

Superb.

Presumably it is only a matter of days until we starting hearing that John Stones has “Chelsea DNA.” In the little black book of tapping up an opposition player, that is just about the next card to be played.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Stones—one that has apparently already angered Everton considerably—moved into a different gear on Wednesday, when Blues defender Gary Cahill publicly encouraged his England team-mate to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

It is the sort of tactic we have previously only seen (so publicly, at least) when Barcelona or Real Madrid are courting a player: First an opening bid is made and rejected, then the club leak details of their interest, and then, when that also appears to have failed, one or more players from the buying club suddenly start making certain comments in the media.

Sometimes they are somewhat subtle, but often—as when Xavi claimed Cesc Fabregas had "Barcelona DNA"—they are not.
