John Stones transfer saga

Hi Jose,

I heard your "big club" shipped four goals today against a club that is championship/league one level.

How about you clean up your own backyard instead of trying to undermine/insult our club and unsettle our players.

Now do one you Portuguese Man-whore.

Lots of love,

Grand Old Team

Probably the worst thing that could have happened.

Better than that. Against the 3rd string of NYRB. Players who usually play in the 3rd division of US Soccer.

So Mourinho needs to convince his club to spend a world record transfer fee on a defender and his defence lets in four goals against a [Poor language removed] team.

Anyone else struggling to believe in coincidences?

Selling the lad will b bad enough but i think trusting bobby with that cash in his pocket could make the whole thing twice as painful, at least with moyesy i had alot of faith in his transfer dealings! i would love to see a list of his possible targets

He was good at finding bargains...when given a bit of dough, it wasn't so great.

He is remembered for the bargains he found, not the bigger money players he bought. Fellaini was really his only 'success' that I can recall with bigger money spent. Maybe I'm forgetting someone.

....I think the reality is that there won't be much cash involved. £30m+ gross but take 20% off for Barnsley and the residue of monies owed on Lukaku and it will leave little coming into RMs transfer kitty.

Which is a disgrace with all the tv money clubs are getting now. It begs the question how we couldn't afford to buy lukaku outright, throw in the player sales from the year before and there's a big pot of money that has vannished somewhere.

.....I think the reality is that very few teams buy players outright, even in the modern era where they are awash with money. Might have that wrong, though.

After tonight's drubbing in the old USofA they really need Stones more than us.

News from a article that just ran...

"In fact Chelsea's imminent second bid for John Stones may be pinging its way over to Everton as we speak, given the quality of some of the defending on show from Chelsea: Terry’s back pass, Nemanja Matic’s unconvincing flick which led to the Red Bulls' third and Ramires' timid clearance for the fourth goal all came under scrutiny."

Wouldn't Stones also be entitled to a % if he doesn't ask for a transfer. It would be at least 10%.

Barnsleys cut is 15% and if there's still anything owing on Lukaku then it's already budgeted for, so wouldn't affect what was made available to RM from the sale.
