Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

if this was a 6 month deal then I could just about accept it as the price worth paying to keep us up.

But a 2.5 year deal will wreck the club and everything that Moshiri apparently wanted to achieve.

Forget the new ground because no one will go to watch Allardyce's alehouse football and after 2 years of his recruitment policy that is all the players will be able to do.

The School of Science is dead.

Everton FC will be on their way there too if this appointment runs the full term.

And Sammy Lee ! I will never set foot in Goodison if he has any involvement.

Kenwright and Moshiri just go and go now if what has been trailed is correct.

I get what you are saying, but we can still sack him after 6 months it will just cost us more money

It died 30 years ago lad.

Too negative sir!

Not liking Sam, fair enough. But fire brigades, water damage etc? Quite aside from Bolton in Europe, Newcastle's plunge after him (Benitez, Shearer, Hughton), he promoted and secured West Ham, kept Sunderland up (Moyes couldn't) and Palace likewise. And in Palace he added a decent long-term, young defender in Sakho into the mix...

Moyes at Everton. Hughes at Stoke, Fulham, Blackburn. Pulis Stoke, Brom. Howe at Bournemouth. Dyche at Burnley. We simply stick our noses up at British managers as a symptom of the 'level' of clubs we allow them to manage. All of those guys deliver millions to their clubs through their management ability and give a stage of the most watched league in the world to the players they work with.

No Prem club that's conceded what we have, by now, has EVER stayed up.

Statistically, we need any manager to do what's not been done before - and we're being negative towards Sam?! But want Silva who's already proved he can't keep a club up?

Whatever you need to cope, you keep telling yourself all of that. When you finally wake up to just what his appointment means I hope you can deal with it.

Unbelievable just been looking at the 5 best moments of Mike Bassett England manager and also that poem he gives at the end to the press conference, which finishes with the immortal line, England will be playing 4-4 f---- 2. Had sky sports on without the sound ( so much better ).Looked up and saw Allardyce is the new Everton manager, how fitting.
