Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

Wasn't Martinez bustin' his moves in the year he was sacked? Not a good omen. Fat Sam isn't a fit in any case unless Everton wants to remain a bottom six side fighting relegation each year. We run the risk of losing our best players and an influx of bang average footballers in the mould of Fat Sam.

If only our players were bang average, they look about fifty levels below that atm.

I'm afraid Allardyce, as unpalatable as he is is by far our best chance of staying as a premier league club imo, it may be short termism but its where we are now that counts and we were only going one way and that's towards certain relegation in my view.

Its easy to take comfort in that there's so long to go, we'll improve when Coleman, Bolasie and who knows even possibly Barkley comes back and what about the transfer window, but the fact is we were sinking fast and on current form (if not points) are easily the worst in the league.

Once they sink to such low levels teams' often get in an unstoppable vicious circle of poor confidence levels giving poor results giving dreadful confidence levels giving even more dreadful results and its almost impossible to halt, new or returning players rather than lifting the team are dragged down by it and things just spiral completely out of control.

The problem is our comic relief month has sent us into the start of this cycle and it needs a man used to fire fighting and rescuing lost causes to come in now.

Its not yet irretrievable but people who think we're far better and can't go down are living in make believe land.

Another daft thing to say. Hell would freeze over before Liverpool would appoint someone as bad as us.

Sam might not be most people's cup of tea but when you see things like this tweet it makes you realise that we are in quite a mess. Maybe Sam can do well with better resources, one can hope but he has to keep us up first . Part of me feels like his appointment is more than just a case of survival, it's an appointment with the consideration that we probably could go down and he'd make sure we came straight back up. Worrying times and don't know how it came around so quickly, thanks for the memories Ronald, you clog wearing biff. I'm not completely distraught with Sam's appointment if he does the job required but I hope he's kept away from recruitment at the very least!

Absolutely.

I honestly feel some people dont think we're THAT bad at the moment. Just need any manager but Big Sam to come in, sort us out, we'll be fine.

When it's not. It truly isn't.
