Its easy to see even on the Everton facebook the global exposure that bringing Rooney back will give us. I've seen hundreds of foreign Rooney fans commenting.
Some even going as far as to say they will follow Everton now or buy the everton top. Its a mad world that i dont understand as we here in Britain support a club and not a player.

The amount of press this is generating is pretty shocking. Look at Twitter (top trending), 700K instagram likes. Obviously doesn't mean Everton is going to sell 700K kits. But the coverage is certainly exposing Everton to a whole new batch of people. Pretty much a lead story in the US sports pages. etc...

This is one of those archetypal stories that transcends sport: the prodigal son returning. That appeals to everyone (apart from Kopites, of course).
It's certainly a more compelling narrative than another top striker joining Manchester United. That only appeals to United fans.
The challenge for Everton is to ensure it doesn't turn into Rooney retiring with a swan song season or two at his comfy old club.
I want to see plenty of pictures of Rooney working his arse of in training, and bags of effort in pre-season.
