Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Funny enough the player comparison listed Onana as the fifth most similar 😂

Yeah I think he's similar to Gueye in profile - based purely on analytics.

For what it's worth our Kev sent us this earlier

Kevin
Good shout. Yeah was interacting with a Roma fan on X and he was saying that de Rossi wanted midfielders who would dominate on the ball, be more front foot. Bove has seen game time drop under him so open to a move, despite being a Roma fan.

Looking at his stats on Fbref, ignoring the irrelevant stuff, like goal scoring, he's a bit low in the possession stuff but super high in off the ball metrics. Kind of exactly what Dyche would like tbh.

Roma fans (including those writing for SB Nation site) are not happy that he appears to be leaving, which is always a good thing when buying a player. Really hope this one goes through
Is there an actual link here? Anything from our journos? Dont tend to listen when it just coming from the player side (especially when they’re Italian sources)

All but one of the new signings not involved. And Tim wouldn't be playing either if Garner was fit.

What's the point of signing new players.

You can't improve the squad when you have a manager who wants safety first and won't try anything new.
Think this is a bit of an overreaction Tim, they'll certainly be getting minutes soon.

Bournemouth haven't thrown their 40m new guy in, Man U left De Ligt on the bench yesterday and so on.

They all played last week and at Preston. It's not like they only just signed. We all saw they are better than the players selected.

There is no explanation for this selection. Other than Dyche is a very safety first manager and very reactive. He only brings new players into the 11 when others have played poorly.

It’s because of experience because the aim of the game is “do not lose”

He dropped Branthwaite last year but everyone convinced themselves it was because he’d played in the u21 tournament

I agree for the most part but we know what Dyche is like. If they come on (which they will) and out perform the starters they will earn their minutes.

I'm not a great Dyche fan either but I think the forum should wait a bit before the collective headloss (at least until Big Mick toeys one into touch under no pressure.)

Our Journeys know that once Friedkin walked away any talk of transfers disappeared. Everything is just clickbait until some are sold.

Bit of a difference mate is that besides O'Brien all ours were in before we kicked a ball in pre season, O'Brien's been here two weeks already too and lasted in three games
