I dont think we can naively go into the 2025 season once the 3 oldies contracts expire. Along with the 3 CBs who will be out of contract.

There needs to be 3 u18-u20 aged high potential players signed and developed over 12months to step into backup and then rotation options. Or in 12months there will be too much work to do



Coleman looks finished and Young looks high risk at full back.

Ive thought the same in recent months on Seamus mate, so im surprised, though i assume these decisions are made with a sports science dept's input, the hope would be with a proper preseason he may be able to get back to a level after injury.

Young has contributed, you cant argue with our defensive record and he's shown some much needed experience, leadership and snidery in the final few months that have led to points in my opinion - i dont have a beef with offering him a new deal if im honest.

If im honest - the take home in these decisions at full back for me is Patterson doesn't seem to be that highly thought off.

Also think we are exploring doing something with Dele.

Patterson has had several bad injuries now. Dyche has said a few times that hes developing behind the scenes.

If not for this current injury i think we may have seen a sale.

A concern is the defence in 12months time as things stand.

Everyone else will be out of contract. We need to make signings here to develop over a season.

I wonder if Godfrey, Keane, Holgate and Patterson may be touted around now qnd whatever comes in, used on a young right back and a young centre back.
